Holy grail for oily skin
I LOVE this sunscreen. It’s high in zinc oxide, goes on with a very light texture, and does what no other sunscreens do as well: dries down quickly and completely. Once it’s set, it feels like absolutely nothing. I think it could reasonably be called an oil-control sunscreen, as it prevents my oily skin “breakthrough” for longer than any other I’ve tried, and slightly longer than no sunscreen at all. The zinc I mentioned can also help reduce oil production over time (peer-reviewed large-scale data) which is an added bonus. I really can’t praise the texture enough. As someone who prefers a light dusting of powder foundation and maybe some spot concealer, this is the one and only sunscreen I’ve ever used that doesn’t bog down my powder foundation. As with all Paula’s Choice products, it is available in a sample/travel size, which is fantastic for trying out. Every company should do this, and it’s frankly stupid that so few do. Another usual PC bonus is that it is non-irritating. My skin’s pretty sensitive, and it’s never caused any problems anywhere, even on my eyelids. There are some caveats: - The price is preposterous. Points for using all the standard sunscreen ingredients in such an unprecedented formula - but simultaneously, the same ingredients are in most sunscreens and don’t justify the cost. Any company could’ve developed this (so shame on them for not identifying the market). - The rapid dry-down means there’s no time to play about. It goes on, it gets blended out, and in a few moments, it’s set. Given how greasy/oily-textured most sunscreens are, there may be a learning curve. - The tint is pale, and it’s pretty sheer. I’m light-to-medium Caucasian, so it’s perfect for me, but that is likely not a universal experience. Also on that note, no idea how it would perform under liquid/cream foundations. I’ll keep buying this with unwavering loyalty, UNTIL someone gets wise and develops a dupe or equivalent that’s a better value.

Lightweight tinted sunscreen that mattifies and evens skin tone
I purchased the larger bottle last year and didn’t really use it until recently. I apply moisturizer, Hourglass primer, this, and another tinted moisturizer like NARS over it. This does mattify your face, dries down well and does a good job of neutralizing slight redness. I’m 55 and feel like I want to take using sunscreen more seriously where before I wasn’t layering spf products. I’m a very fair dry skinned redhead that burns. I think this product adds a nice layer of protection without a noticeable smell. It doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts. It would work well on its own but don’t expect it to miraculously cover everything although it evens your complexion. Order the bigger size as it’s a better value. You only need a small amount. It spreads evenly with just your fingers. It will look much darker when you squeeze it out than it appears once applied.

Almost great
I really like the product -- it was a high zinc oxide concentration, silicone base, and is non-comedogenic -- but there are a few downsides that prevent it from being great, in my view: -1- This product is *matte*. I see some people describe it as radiant matte or something like that, but that's not been my experience. And even though my skin is combination, with an oily T-zone, I'd actually prefer something a tiny bit more dewy/radiant . . . and this is coming from someone who was deliberately trying to avoid sunscreens that were too shiny/glowy. I'm going to try experimenting by adding moisturizer before applying this one. -2- The tint is a nice color: light tan with a rosy undertone. Given how sheer the product is, it does apply almost invisibly onto the skin, but since I am very fair, it does darken my skin ever so slightly (i.e., you can tell I'm wearing something). That said, it is still lighter in color than many competing products like the Epionce or Bliss, so I can't complain too much. What I have found to be holy grail is mixing this with ETUDE Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk, another excellent product. The ETUDE is a tiny bit shiny and whitening on its own, but if I mix it 50-50 with this, it essentially lightens the color of the Paula's Choice while also making it a tiny bit more dewy. For me, this is as close to perfection as I think I'm going to get.

My holy Grail product
My absolute favorite product! I wear this daily after trying a million different tinted sunscreens and moisturizers. I stopped wearing any makeup. Perfect matte finish.bThe slight tint takes away any white cast and blends absolutely perfectly. Every other product I have tried cakes up or pills but this. It also lasts a long time and a little goes a long way. Totally worth the price. I have zero complaints.

Great for sensitive skin
Love this and it’s perfect if you don’t like wearing a lot of makeup. Coverage is good but lightweight and it’s cruelty free sunblock that is effective. Great size for travel and to throw in my makeup bag.

Disappointed
I'm not going to touch on the size, because I knew I was purchasing a travel size. After trying this and loving it (at first) I actually purchased a full tube direct from the PC website. I really thought I had found my HG sunscreen. The Pros: no white cast. This matches my skin tone (very fair with strong pink undertones) about as perfectly as I've been able to find. I normally hate mineral sunscreen because of the white cast, but no issues with the PC Resist. It spreads very nicely and dries down matte, eliminating the shine I get on my forehead, nose, and chin. It doesn't sting or irritate my sensitive eyes. It contains resveratrol, which has natural estrogenic properties, great for aging skin. Now to the Cons: It leaves a waxy residue when you try to wash it off, requiring a double cleanse with an oil-based product. That's no big deal normally, but I have been having major irritation that I know is from the sunscreen. I don't feel it when I'm wearing it necessarily, other than I can tell my face feels a bit dry. However, after using an oil cleanser to break up the zinc oxide, and then my regular gentle facewash, my face is on FIRE! So irritated and raw feeling. Last night my entire face was bright red and burned for hours afterward. I do not rub or scrub at my face while washing, so it's not a mechanical issue. These are also products I've had in my regimen for years, so no allergy issue with them. I also noticed my skin felt very, very smooth after removing the sunscreen, almost like when I use glycolic acid on my face. I wish I had read the ingredients list more closely before purchasing! The sunscreen contains WILLOW BARK EXTRACT, which is a salicylic exfoliant. Combined with zinc oxide's naturally drying properties, the willow bark was damaging my moisture barrier and causing a constant fiery, inflamed mess! I may not have had as much of an issue in normal circumstances, but I've been using low strength tretinoin at night for quite some time. I tolerate this well, but the willow bark was the straw that broke the camel's back, unfortunately. Ultimately, I need to find a new sunscreen, because I've not giving up my tretinoin. :(

Basically BB cream but better ;)
Wow, this product is pretty amazing. I have very pale, very sensitive, combination skin (yay me!) and I have struggled for years to find something that would give me SPF coverage without causing a reaction or breakout. I also want a cruelty free, vegan, and as natural as possible of a product, so options have been limited. To think of the money I have wasted on products that not only didn't deliver what I hoped they would, but also caused more stress and damage to my skin, has made me very cautious of purchasing outside of the products I know work for me. I love Osea Malibu products, but they don't make a face lotion with SPF, or any kind of makeup. While I love Sun Bum for my body, the face lotion with SPF leaves me greasy and has caused some allergic reactions and breakouts. I thought I was doomed to be battling breakouts or worse, stuck in the shade, and then I found this beauty! I have tried so many face lotions with SPF that either caused me to be very greasy and break out or didn't provide enough SPF coverage. This product is like a BB cream, only better. It provides you with amazing matte coverage, and after testing it in direct and very bright sunlight for 30 minutes I can attest that the SPF does indeed provide good protection. And best of all, no breakouts since I started using it about a week ago. I know my skin, and if I did have an issue with this product it would have shown up right away. For those with combination and oily complexions this product should work really well. For those with dryer skin, you might need a more sufficient moisturizer before applying this product. The matte finish is amazing. I tend to get a little greasy in my T-zone, especially my forehead and nose, and this stuff keeps me shine free. This product does have a tint to it, but don't be worried, it's not very pigmented. I was worried the color would be too dark for my pale skin, but it blends in really well. In the morning I wash my face, apply toner, serum or treatments, moisturizer along my cheeks and any dry areas, then this Paula's Choice RESIST matte finish tinted moisturizer and my face looks flawless. I don't like to wear face makeup so this product provides the perfect amount of coverage and if I need to I can apply a little concealer to cover the occasional blemish or any redness. Boom, good to go. The price of this product seems pretty par for the course. I'm not sure I would pay more than $50 for it, but I feel like the $33 price tag was totally worth it. This product isn't super clean, but it's way better than most, and cruelty free! Paula's Choice notes that while their products do not contain animal products, they cannot be labeled vegan because the equipment used to make their products does process other labels that use animal products. So basically they are vegan, but cannot be labeled as such. Dear Paula's choice, please don't stop making this lotion! I am loving what it's doing for my skin :)

Holy grail but can be slightly drying
This is hands down my favorite tinted mineral sunscreen! I've tried at least 20-30 others now but nothing beats this one. It provides more coverage than others and evens out the redness on my cheeks. It still looks natural and provides a blurring effect that makes my pores and textured skin look great. It does not get oily or greasy throughout the day either. It hasn't caused any breakouts or clogged pores on my sensitive, acne prone skin. The color can be a little dark for my super pale skin in the winter but it's barely noticeable and putting bronzer on my neck evens it out. I have dry skin and live in a dry climate, and this does slightly dry out certain areas of my face after a couple hours (I'm guessing due to the higher zinc %). I wish they made a non-matte version of this. If my face is feeling extra dry that day, I'll mix a bit of a glowy sunscreen in with it. If you want more coverage, you can mix a cc cream or a couple drops of foundation with it as well. Overall, this is the absolute best of the best for tinted mineral sunscreen that provides the perfect amount of coverage and really protects you from the sun.

Not worth the price!
Truly overpriced. Its a tiny tube shorter than my index finger. Could barely use it once. Be careful!

My 'holy grail'!
This is my 'holy grail' after many years of searching for the perfect daily facial sunscreen..this is 'the one' I have very oily skin, I've always battled with shine. I've tried many..many facial sunscreens, and spent a lot of money in the process, but no more! This is perfect for me. Beautiful texture, super lightweight, matte finish without looking 'flat'. It doesn't crease or settle in fine lines. I'm not one for sitting out in the sun but I've never burnt with this on my face and neck. I wear it daily, all year round. It's a brilliant product!
