Question 1

Does anyone use this vacuum as the main vacuum  at home? we live in a 1 bedroom apartment and i wonder can this replace the full vacuum thanks

We've had ours for at least 3 years, maybe 4.  Her mother had one, and when she moved from one apartment to another, we were amazed at its power and how well it did, so we bought one.

We have a 4 bedroom, 3 bath ranch style home.  We use it primarily on the main level, and left the old one down in the finished basement.  Most of the time, we can vac all of the upstairs without having to dump the bowl.  Maybe we should dump more often, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, that I can tell.  She takes care of the foam filter, so I can't say much about that, but it doesn't take very long to clean it.
We had a dog, and this was great to help with the shedding of his hair.  Unfortunately, we had to put him down after he turned 16.  The Grandchildren help in keeping us busy, and the Shark Rocket is still very helpful ;).

Question 2

We have a long haired cat that sheds.  Will the regular Rocket work for cat hair or is this worth the extra money?

I have two dogs. Both short hair dogs, but has bushier hair and sheds more and the Rocket True Pet vacuum works better then another vacuum I've ever had. I would definitely recommend it.

Would like to know if anyone has actually weighed the vacuum? If so what is the weight? Thank you...

I weighed mine with a digital luggage scale. I unwound the cord because, when using it, the cord will be unwound. The vacuum weighs 7.99 pounds alone and 8.49 pounds with the snap-on attachment holder and attachments.

Does this work well on the hardwood as well as carpet?? I am really looking for a vacuum that is good on both hardwood and carpet. I mean really pick

Works best on carpet.  It will pick up loose dirt on hardwoods, but you need the Dust Away attachment to do a good job on the dust.  The headlight will show what you've missed.  This is my third Shark.  The motor burned out on the first one after about three years.  I'm still using the other two, the oldest of which is about six years.
