The soundtrack to the now closed Millennium Show at the Millennium Dome in UK is another example of Peter Gabriel's continuing genius. The liner notes as well as multimedia on the CD provide the information needed to fill the blanks about a show most people never got to see but produced a soundtrack that can stand alone as a great recording. Providing flavor from around the world as well as inspiring and challenging the listener.This CD has the best use of `Multimedia' that I have seen on any CD and provides an example of how `enhanced' CDs should be enhanced. The interviews provide background on the how and why of the show and the Story of Ovo. (The premise of the show).

Wonderful release from PG ... plain and simple. Then again, this man could put out a recording of himself singing the phonebook and I'd eagerly buy a copy of it!!!Highly recommended ...

After hearing some of Grabriel's later solo albums, projects and movie soundtracks I was worried that this was going to be another one of his self indulgent boring pieces of work. But, it is mostly enjoyable, with some of sounding like some of his earlier material. But, it isn't perfect throughout.Gabriel has many talents but rap song composer isn't one of them. The album starts out with a rap to explain the concept of the album and it sounds like what would happen if an old British white man tried to write rap. The album also has two slow numbers that are meant to advance the story but just drone on. Otherwise, it is a very interesting CD.

Ovo is vintage Peter Gabriel! Love the music and the innovative style. Haunting and hip. Great CD! Came ontime and in great condition.

Knowing that this was not a typical Peter Gabriel album, I bought it for two songs that really spoke to me. I first heard "Downside-Up" on the Peter Gabriel "Growing Up Live" DVD and loved the audio track and the visuals. Father/Son is the second song and the one that really compelled me to buy the disk because it made me think of my dearly departed father. I could relate to the message and the sentiment because it reminded me of the things that we did together as a family, when Mom and Dad were both with us. I feel that some healing properties of a spiritual nature emanate from the music, "With my Dad by my side" and Mom. The album is actually quite good and probably more enjoyable with the multimedia content when played on the computer, although I must agree that the first track could have been excluded and I wouldn't have missed it. I'm just not a fan of rap, and the first song featured a number of guest artists, rather than Peter Gabriel, on vocals. So, which is an incredible Gabriel pop album from 1986, I bought the Ovo disk for two songs that were well worth the purchase price of the disk.

Per anni ho rimandato l’acquisto di questo album, pur essendo io un fan di Peter, semplicemente detestavo il titolo e sapendo che era una “colonna sonora” di uno spettacolo multimediale mi immaginavo fosse integralmente strumentale.Mi sbagliavo alla grande.Un album fantastico, dove sono presenti più ospiti alla voce, ma questo non disturba affatto.Suonato e prodotto magistralmente, come di consuetudine per Gabriel.Unica pecca il primo brano, ma dura solo 5:21, si ascolta e poi parte la magia.

It's a masterpiece
