Ice Ball Molds for Slow-melting Beverage Chillers - Set of 4 Molds

I LOVE MAKING ICE BALLS! Number one, I love saying to guests, "would you like an ice ball with that?" Number two, they take a really long time to melt - a huge plus here in Florida. Number three, I love saying ICE BALLS. Hey - the little rectangular ones are called cubes (even though they are clearly rectangular shaped) and no one laughs when you ask a person if they want ice cubes. But mention ice balls and everyone is riveted to the concept.I love them so much that I don't mind managing the drawbacks which are as follows: Number one: you must fill the molds EXACTLY to the line or you get a death star shaped thing, or else it overflows making it very hard to remove from the mold. Which brings me to number two: it's kind of hard to get them out of the molds. I run them under tap water and try to separate them and then have to poke the ball out of whichever side it comes out on. Number three: frozen ice ball molds are extremely brittle and if you drop one in your unabashed enthusiasm to get your ice ball out, they will shatter. Number four: they take quite a long time to freeze so you have to think ahead and be prepared. I myself keep about ten ice balls in a gallon sized baggie so I am always prepared for company. Because trust me - you do NOT want your guests to watch you wrangle these puppies out of their molds. It's like, your hands are ALL OVER THEM. But what they don't know won't hurt them and I I just make a couple every few days and put them in my bag.HAH - YES! Despite all that - I love my ice ball molds!!!!!!! Did I mention I love to say ice ball?BTW, I did not get these for free or discounted for my review. I am just writing a review because apparently I have nothing better to do with my time. Many compliments from guests when serving a nice bourbon or scotch. I have been asked to order several for family gifts. I did not give this 5 stars as the molds do not "consistently" form perfect molds. Not that any of the molds can not be used or look "OK" once they have some liquid poured over them, it just appears that a few of the molds seem to work better than a few other molds.Still a good product!

These work great, tops seat well into the bases, stacking in the freezer helps conserve some space and they can be filled prior to the top being inserted or after. Anyway you fill them, remember water expands when it turns to ice so leaving a little room for air helps makes these come out perfect. If you flip it over, once it's filled, with your finger covering the hole in the top, an airpocket with a diameter around the size of quarter works just great!

The iceball mould is wonderful but the only issue is that it does not work for long. After 1 year of proper use, the side of one of the mould broke, i can still use it but it doesnt look good.

So far very satisfied. You need to fill the molds with very, very hot water, if not the ice balls have a tendency to cleve or break apart. They do last longer than regular ice cubes.

Very happy about purchasing these. I have not made perfect clear ice, but these are great for easy to use. Everyone loves the big balls of ice and how long they last!

I use these molds all the time and would recommend them to anyone. I suggest making the ice balls in advance and putting them in freezer bags. You can get five in a regular sized frezzer bag. I also recommend keeping your bouborn in the freezer. Cheers!

These are the BEST MOLDS EVER!!! The size is awesome!!!! These were the largest we could find. Been using them for over 3 months and they are perfect everytime.
