Very nice saw but odd size arbor...
This is a great little saw - lightweight and has plenty of power. I selected it because Iโve had good luck with other Ryobi tools and it is the smallest circular saw I could find that would cut through 2x4 lumber. The only big negative is that it has a 10mm arbor. Here in the US itโs difficult to find the 5.5โ blades off the shelf at your local home stores or hardware stores since they generally sell blades with 5/8โ arbor holes. You can order the blades online for the 10mm arbors but if youโre in the middle of a project and need a replacement blade quickly, itโs best to be able to pick them up locally. In order to have the option to buy blades locally, you should also purchase a couple of arbor bushing adapters to allow the blades with 5/8โ arbor holes to fit the 10mm arbor. Some blades, such as those made by Oshlun, come with the 5/8โ-10mm adapter bushings. If you want to purchase the adapter bushings to have on hand, Amana part number BU-125 will work. I found them here on Amazon sold by RouterBitWorld but they are probably available from other sources too.โโโโโThis is an update after four months of use. To extend battery life, be sure to retract the blade to the minimum depth of cut necessary to make your cuts. I was shortening 4x8 foot sheets of plywood that were 3/8โ thick and left the blade extended to 2โ from when I was cutting 2x4s. With the 2AH Ryobi battery fully charged I could only cut 6 1/2 sheets crossways (so about 26 feet) before the battery gave out. When I retracted the blade to just over 3/8โ I was able to cut through 11 sheets (44 feet). I stopped there because I didnโt have anymore cuts to make but it had enough a charge left to cut a few more.I would also suggest getting a larger capacity battery for the saw. The Ryobi drill does fine with a 2AH battery but if youโre working on a big project, a 4AH or 6AH battery will be very helpful in the saw. I ordered a generic (non-Ryobi) 6AH battery for half the cost of a Ryobi 4AH battery and it works fine but is really only a 4AH battery that they advertise as a 6AH. Again, Iโm not referring to the Ryobi brand batteries but the generic, Ryobi compatible batteries that are sold here on Amazon.I still like the saw and recommend it highly.

Lovin' It
Only used for one project, but cutting 1/4" treated plywood is a pretty good test. It goes through it like butter, only limited by my need to keep it aligned with the cut line. For me, the laser helps tremendously here since even in sunlight, I can see the red line projecting many inches forward. As far as battery life, all i can say is I cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood into eight 2x2 squares and had plenty of life on the standard battery size to spare (not the large capacity Ryobi battery). Easily adjust the depth and bevel of cut and went through a 2"x4" piece like nothing was there! of course, i can't say enough about going cordless. You millennials don't even know what its like to be tethered to an electrical cord probably! I also have the Ryobi drill, jigsaw, and hedge trimmer, all great, for versatility of battery use. Home Depot and Lowe's need to STOP changing the brand of these power tools they carry every year! I have a Workx cordless weedeater that uses a different battery and charger.

Ryobi is getting ever better
This is the latest model of this saw with the battery mounted on the side (the $99 combo at the Home Depot has the second-last model with the battery in the back). I have been using the blue model (with lithium-iron batteries) for most of my dimensional wood and panel cutting. The older saw has just enough juice to do the job. This latest saw has sufficient additional power to justify the upgrade. It is also better balanced and the laser guide comes handy for rough cutting. I systematically replace the original blades of my saws with Freud Diablo equivalents. If you do not have a saw like this or, like me, want to upgrade an older model, go ahead and buy it with confidence. Just mind the fact that, with a 5 1/2" blade, it cuts through 2x wood only perpendicularly and you need a saw with a 6 1/2" blade to cut at 45 degrees. BTW, since I started using this kind of saw (with boards between two folding tables), I have not been touching my sliding miter saw any longer.

Throws sawdust at you. Blade guard sticks. No cord to avoid. Handy.
Love not dealing with cord. Cuts well enough through sheet goods and lumber up to 1-1/2 in., depth adjustment is easy. Handles good, I think the trigger safety is easier to use than the battery Craftsman saw a friend has.I dont like that it seems to throw saw dust up in front of saw blade and when I lean over saw to guide it, I get hit in the face with shavings.I also noticed that the blade guard sticks up sometimes after sawing, I suppose due to sawdust clogging it. The guard is only plastic, so I'm careful to sit saw down gently. A couple times I had to pull the guard down by hand after cutting plywood. I think the blade turns slow enough that it doesnt always clear cuttings from around blade.I'm careful not to drop it like the corded Skil saw while blade is still turning, the guard may break or be stuck up.I never noticed that when using the Craftmans saw, nut I have the 18+one system.I'm not impressed with the laser feature. It is on automatically when trigger is pressed. It is adjustable for alignment, but cant be turned off. It covers up all the line I drew on material, so I can't see the line until I track off of it. I haven't used a lot of laser guide tools, but I wonder if it would be better if the laser line was broken, or only a few inches in front of saw, so one could see how the alignment is all the time, I find myself weaving back and forth across the line from one side to the other. I ordered the rip fence attachment; I would much prefer to use that for ripping sheets, or I use a square as a guide when I can when cutting off boards.

Light, Portable, Love It!
I had the blue version that originally came as a pair with my cordless drill, but after 10 years the motor died on it. I ordered this to replace it, and I am very satisfied. It has a better balance, and the laser guide is handy. It's battery powered so it has limitations, but within those limits it performs very well. I have upgraded to the Lithium batteries which have a better discharge curve (than the Nicads) and work with both this saw and my cordless drill.

Ryobi P506 Cordless Circular Saw
The saw arrived on time and without any issues in a very well packed box. After using the saw for a few weeks, I can honestly say it is a great machine for the money. The only feedback to the seller is to add a user's guide or some kind of documentation that explains the features and adjustments, mine came without anything at all. I do recommend this saw to everybody that needs one.

Good product
I am very happy I broke down and finally bought this portable saw. It eats battery power so, if you buy this product, I suggest that you have several batteries available or you will find yourself dead in the water in the middle of a project. I have fairly new 4000 mah batteries and one charge would cut two 4x8 5/8's plywood lengthwise and then require a new battery. It is safe and adjustable - be sure to read the directions/warnings with it on its proper use.
