UPDATE: EXCELLENT, best holster I've ever bought!
Update: I've now obtained a second one and just ordered a third because of the unbeatable (possibly unmatched) quality I see in this product. It is definitely unmatched for the price. DO NOT BE TURNED AWAY BY THE WHINING REGARDING THE ALLEGED DIFFICULTY BREAKING IN THE HOLSTER! Both holsters I obtained required mere hours to break in - the second literally within 1 hour. All I did for the second was spray some "Quick Draw" holster treatment into the holster, holstered the gun, and it was ready to use the very day I got it. Be sure to get the correct one for your firearm, and you shouldn't have any problem at all. (end of update) ... As with many gun owners, I've gone through the frustrating and ultimately expensive process of searching for the "perfect" holster. I have a large box full of holsters that I bought and ended up not using. Since Amazon frowns upon mentioning competing products I will refrain from identifying the other manufacturers except to say they represent all the major producers of OWB holsters. This 1791 holster is superior to them all. The quality is impeccable. The workmanship is precise and artfully done. The leather selection is top-notch and thicker than other manufacturers where thickness really counts. It also seems to hug the waist better than others, perhaps because its quality, thick leather doesn't droop or become overly stretched as can happen with lesser products. Basically, it is the best leather holster I've ever bought, and I've bought a LOT of OWB leather holsters. I much prefer leather due to scratches non-leather holsters have caused to a couple of my handguns and the comfort of pliable leather vs rigid plastic. Plus, I just don't think a gun feels "at home" in a piece of plastic. Since it is a relatively new company, the public isn't really aware of 1791 Gunleather's superior products. I, in fact, had never heard of them and accidentally discovered their existence when I recently purchased a holster for a Glock 23. It was one of a couple of holsters I thought I might like that came up in the Amazon search. It wasn't priced to break my pocketbook, and looked very well made. So, I figured I'd try it out. WOW! From the moment I opened the package and was bathed in the smell of leather I knew I had made a good purchase. I takes a little breaking in, and they provide instructions on how to do so. I, instead, simply pushed my gun into the holster and left it in my truck's center console the first day I used it in the hot south Texas summer weather while working in an office building that doesn't allow handgun carry. I guess the natural forces of summer heat with the gun holstered did the trick. It fits PERFECTLY - not too loose, not too snug, and hasn't loosened beyond a perfect fit since. Don't let folks who don't know about how to break in leather holsters turn you away. A leather holster SHOULD initially be very snug even to the point of possibly being difficult to insert the gun because all leather holsters will loosen up. Buy from 1791 Gunleather. You'll not regret it. I was so impressed that I'm now buying additional 1791 holsters for other handguns I regularly carry. They will be my holster of choice for every handgun, and my past holsters of choice will be tossed in the discarded holster box as secondary backups.

Fantastic holster - fits my S&W SW99
I'd read that a Glock 26/27 holster could fit a Smith and Wesson SW99 (or also a Walther P99, which is the same gun) and so took a chance on this one. The fit is perfect, after following the break-in recommendations it is perfectly snug and holsters well, without catching at the slide or trigger guard. The comfort at 3 o'clock is great, better than my Kydex holster by a long shot. Holds upside-down snuggly but isn't "grabby" when drawing.I 100% recommend this holster, particular if you have a SW99 or P99 and cannot find a good holster. Mine was in stock at Amazon and delivered next day with Prime shipping - no waiting 2 months for a craft production. I'd also like to say a word about the construction quality - it is astounding to see this kind of quality at this price point. The leather is solid and well finished, the color is excellent, the stitching is likewise robust and looks ready to stand up to heavy use for a long time. I've already bought a mag carrier and 1791 has earned my lifelong business.(If you cannot tell, you should totally buy this)

Expectanly Waiting for Function to = Form
Received my 1791 for Glock 23 about a week ago. Not at all disappointed and properly impressed with quality and workmanship. It's topnotch and should last me many years, especially since I have 2 EDC handguns carried on a 50-50% basis. Formerly toted both in Kydex IWB & OWB holster versions. Now I'm in the process of transitioning to leather for various reasons, mainly because they seem to be easier on gun finish (i.e. SS) and not so squeaky. Because the 1791 isn't my first leather holster, I have learned by experience, a new holster worth its salt is going to be tight requiring working in & out with wax paper, plastic bags, etc. However, when this beauty arrived it seemed to take snugness, tightness, and grippyness to a new level! I worked it every day with the 23 and wore it for hours daily around the house. However, I know if I ever needed to draw my weapon in a defensive handgun situation I would be better off searching for and throwing a rock or bottle at a bg threatening with a crowbar, sword, knife or gun rather than attempting a draw. The former being said, after reading many reviews regarding this holster, I discovered a significant number of purchasers have mentioned its initial stiffness and reluctance to "let go." With patience and effort the majority prevailed and continue to sing the praises of their 1791. I expect to do the same. BTW, I can say it is progressively more apparent the leather is yielding and loosening. My draw time is down from a max. of 45 sec. of tugging, wiggling and pulling to as little as 15 sec. Soon, I may even be able to put bullets back into my glock. (-;}Whoo-hoooo...Ps: When that magical day arrives I'll be happy to upgrade my rating to 5-stars.

Doesn't Fit Walther PPS M2 - Fits Kahr CW9, K9, and K40 almost Perfectly
Great fit, finish, and value. This seems like it should be a $100+ holster, but it's half that price. The leather is high quality and very thick. The dye, coloring job on the leather is top notch as well. I was really impressed with the holster when I first laid eyes on it.Cons: I purchased for my Walther PPS M2 which this holster was listed as fitting. As other reviews have stated, it does not! My other personal preference grip is that the leather is why to thick for use with a gun holster. Leather this thick is normal used to make gun belts. Last, the belt holes are to narrow making it very difficult to slide a thick gun belts through. I own a few gun pancake holsters, and none of them are that tight. With that said, I do not know, maybe it'll get better as the holster is broken in and stretched out.As an aside and oddly enough, while the holster was listed as fitting, but did NOT fit, my PPS M2, it Kahr K9 and K40 almost perfect which is listed as one of pistols that'll fit in this holster... Pic included...
