Great Product, Works as advertised
Like all the lutron products this works as advertised and is easy to control. You need to know what you are doing for installation. Directions are a little too simple. Just remember to add the White wire.

Perfect HomeKit integration
Tried other in-wall switches. Shied away from Lutron due to the higher price and need for a dedicated hub. Finally came around due to frustration with others. Although a bit more expensive, perfect response has been worth it!

Convenient, but speeds could be better spaced.
I've installed dozens of Lutron Caseta switches and dimmers in both my current and previous home, and they are rock solid reliable. I expect this fan control to follow that trend.Prior to installing this fan control, I had a Caseta on/off switch for my fan (and a separate Caseta dimmer for the light). This meant I could use Siri (or Alexa or Google Home) to turn the fan on and off, setup automations to automatically turn the fan on or off, and of course, do the same from the wall switch. But to change the speed of the fan, I'd still have to use the pull chain. With the Caseta Fan Control, that's no longer the case: I can not only turn the fan on and off, but control the speed, from the wall switch, Siri, and so on. That's a big boost in convenience, and as trivial as it might sound, not having pull chains hanging from my fan improves the aesthetics. The fan has four speeds: low, medium, medium high, and high (in Apple HomeKit, these show as 25, 50, 75, and 100%). And it's here that there's room for improvement: Low is extremely slow. Medium should probably be low. Medium high should be medium. And high is my fan's maximum speed, which on this particular fan at least, is quite high. If the fan isn't perfectly balanced, it will wobble and make noise (that's a function of my fan, not this switch). I'd like a speed between Medium High and High, and I'll probably never use the Low speed because it is very, very slow.A few things to keep in mind: If your fan has a light, make sure you have separate wiring for the fan and the light; this won't work if you currently have a single switch that has both. Also note that this requires neutral wiring, but this shouldn't be an issue unless your home is many decades old.All in all, I'd recommend this and the Caseta line in general. I just wished the speeds on the fan were better spaced apart.UPDATE: If you have existing Pico remotes you were hoping to use with this, you're out of luck. Neither the dimmer Pico (five button) nor on/off Pico (two button) remotes work with this fan control. You'll have to get the new fan control Pico, which I have not tested at this time. When using Siri, you can say "Set fan to 25/50/75/100", "Set fan to 25%/50%/75%/100%" or "Set fan to low/medium/very high". For some reason "Set fan to high" does not work; you have to use "100%" or "very high". If you say "medium high," Siri will respond affirmatively, but this is actually sets the speed to "medium". So the only way to set medium high is with 75 or 75%.If Lutron addresses the speed and Siri quirks, this product would be just about perfect. The Pico issue is less important, though I do have extra Pico remotes around I'd rather put to use instead of buying a new product.UPDATE 2: August 2019: You actually can pair the Pico dimmer remote to the fan, just not through the app. To do this, first push and hold the bottom (off) button on the Fan Control until the LEDs on the left start blinking. Then, push and hold the bottom button on the Pico until its LED starts blinking. Give it a few seconds, and then the two are paired. You'll now see the Pico in the app; it'll be named something like "Unnamed Pico Remote" and not assigned to a room. You can edit the name and assign it a room and it will remain paired to your fan control switch.

AWESOME smart home technology makes life EASY albeit a bit pricey
I was getting new recessed lights put in and while the electrician was going to provide traditional dimmers I wanted the smart dimmers. There were a few others that were quite a bit cheaper but I opted for the Lutron as I also wanted to get matching fan controls and Kasa did not seem to have very good matching fan controls, though their light dimmers were almost 1/2 priced, but since this was a once in a lifetime investment I decided to pay the extra hoping that Lutron's history in making electrical components will result in a longer lasting product. The integration with the Google ecosystem was easy though I had to install and configure the Hub to interface with the switches and my Google Assistant.LOVE the final system that we have as the remotes allow bedside controls while the Google control allows voice control AND home automation. I can have Google turn on/off the lights I want based upon schedule or sensing my arrival/departure.

A Great Fan Control with Smart Home Capabilities
IMO, this wall fan control from Lutron is the best you can get for your pull chain 3 speed AC motor ceiling fans that are wired already to a wall switch or rotary dial and are wired separately from the lights (if your ceiling fan has lights). That is exactly how several rooms in my home are wired (1 switch for the fan light and 1 switch for the fan motor). I previously had a rotary 3 speed fan control that I replaced with the Lutron Caseta Fan control. Now I get 4 fan speeds and smart home control of my ceiling fans.Features & Pros:+ Control. 4 fan speeds that you can control at the switch and with your smart home devices (phone, voice, etc).+ Reliable. The Lutron Caseta system has never failed me. Most ceiling fan companies want you to install their receiver modules in the canopy and use their remotes, but that can present several cons -- you could lose the remote, you have to change out the batteries, and you could get interference to where the remote responds poorly or not at all. A hardwired wall switch makes more sense and won't confuse people when you just simply want to turn the fan on. Lutron tech support is also great. They stand by their products.+ Easy to install. Just confirm you have neutral wires in your electrical boxes and follow the instructions.+ Compatibility. This works with many brands of ceiling fans. I have Hunter brand fans and they work great. Even if your ceiling fan has a receiver and remote, you may be able to just not install the receiver and hardwire the fan. The important part is that the ceiling fan is a 3 speed fan with an AC motor.

Does NOT work with Hunter brand, nor non pull-chain fans
Something missing from every description, both on Amazon and on the Lutron site, is that if your fan is Hunter and/or it is NOT a pull-chain operated fan (i.e. at the fan itself), this will not function - at all. The lights won't even come on. We had our fan on a toggle switch, and then on a fan speed control switch - both worked great. But, now as our home is fully integrated with Lutron Caseta, we were excited to finally get the fan connected. After speaking with Lutron, they gave the above information. So, PLEASE - be aware, this does NOT work with Hunter fans, any fans with a remote, or almost any fans that don't have pull chains on them.

Do your homework and this should work with your Ceiling Fan as suggested by Lutron
I saw a few complaints about this controller not working with their fan. For me, I purchased Hunter's 59264 Contemporary Modern 52", and this worked perfectly once hooked up. It turns a relatively cheap fan into a smart fan with google/alexa integration and for me I have it scheduled to turn on change speeds based on time-of-day.It does have limitations based on your fan model, so make sure your ceiling fan follows the below limitations before buying everything:• The fans motor is AC (NOT DC), and draws no more than 1.5Amps• Make sure that the fan is pull string operated (remote controlled units will likely not work but you might be able to bypass it with some additional work)• Make sure when you set the fan up for the first time that both the ceiling fan is set to it's highest setting. Once you have this, the lutron controller can do it's job without any issue. For me I unscrewed the pull string and secured it within the housing of the ceiling fan (once I set it to it's highest setting).

The Best Caseta Switch for Ceiling Fans with some misgivings
Prior to these Caseta Fan switches the only way to control a Fan with Caseta was to use the On/Off Switch which worked but didn't give you speed controlThis Caseta Fan switch gives you three speed control of your fan, Low, Medium and High. The fan control switch works great with the Lutron App and Alexa Voice control however it is not currently supported by Alarm.com.I was disappointed to find this out after I had upgraded my Fan On/Off switches to the new Fan Control Speed Switches. For some strange reason Alarm.com recognizes the Lutron Caseta On/Off switches and Caseta Dimmers but not the fan switch which is disappointing. One can always hope they will integrate the Caseta fan switch with a future update but who knows.Overall this Caseta Fan switch works great and is a big improvement over the Standard Caseta On/Off Switch. If you're using the Caseta App exclusively or Alexa voice control you'll be fine ... if you're integrating this switch with another platform such as Alarm.com it will not work at this time (Dec 2020).

Love it
Very simple.Line, load, neutral & ground.Small junction boxes can be a challenge.Contrary to other reviews, very good fan speed spread.Using on "canarm" industrial 36" fan mounted on scissor truss vaulted ceiling.Replaced lutron skylark 3 speed switch with this caseta 4 speed. Both switches are very good, but caseta neato factor played into purchase.($63 price helped)Amp probed both switches as per attached pic.👍👏👏👏FYI update. The 5 button pico lite dimmer works with this switch.

Amazon misclassified the quality of switch
Product is great but very disappointed with Amazon. This product was a returned product set as very good condition., but when we went to install it, a wire was broken in the unit itself and the alternative to installation (the screw) was stripped.Installer managed to establish a workaround to make it work but this should have been flagged and was in ‘poor condition’.The speeds are lower than the manufacturer and low is too low where the medium-high speed is equivalent to the regular low speed that we normally use and would have been nice for the ability to adjust the speed of the fan more precisely like the dimmer switches.
