Hello, I would like to know if this machine is 220/240 volts?

This model is only available in the US and therefore it is 110 volts. You will need to use a transformer to plug it into a 220/240v socket. A mere plug adapter is not sufficient and will fry the engine making the machine unusable. I have just purchased one while on a trip to the US. It is such a great value machine and it does so much.

I note the machine weighs 4.9kg but the boxed product weighs 13kg. Where does the other 7kg come from? Does the machine actually weigh more?

I have just bought one and there are other "bits" that come with it. For example, the carriage for embroidory is a separate accesory. Also, there are two (heavy) manuals, one in English and one in Spanish. I hope this helps.
