The media could not be loaded.  Bespoke electric gates cost a fortune (and look ostentatious) and this kit does the job just as well. Check that your gatepost and gate are plumb and level before ordering, as this really matters. I found fitting the actuator quite difficult; it's a two-person job and a lot more demanding than the instruction video suggests. However, wiring up the components is very straightforward. Although the main unit is waterproof, you do need a waterproof box for everything else and the job is neater if it's all tucked away. I bought mine from slkmobility.com.The solar panel flex isn't very long, so if you need to position the panel away from trees, you'll need a waterproof connector. I didn't know whether the actuator would keep the gate closed sufficiently firmly to stop our two large dogs getting out, but it does.In summary, get the actuator mounted correctly and the rest is easy. An effective bit of kit. Recommended.

Very good product easy to install with the aid of clear and concise instructions including excellent videos.There was a fault with the solar controller unit but within 12 hours of communicating with Topens the supplier a solution was provided and now the gate opener works absolutely perfect l am very happy with the product and the service provided and would highly recommend this company.I will definitely be purchasing again from here.

We live in an old farmhouse and our gate is 10+ meters from the nearest power source. We had silly quotes from installers for a mains powered gate arm due to the need for burying armoured cable underground for safety reasons. This alternative solution is extremely good value for money. The setup is not easy, nor is it difficult. If you have a head for DIY and are able to follow a few simple instructions then a couple of hours on a nice day should sort it. I've contacted Zack a few times for technical support to optimise our setup and he always responds quickly and thoroughly with a willingness to help. Cannot fault the product or the back-office support.Note you do need to purchase a few items in addition (one waterproof box for batteries and cable connections to sit in) and the batteries themselves. Due to the UK weather, I found I needed two sets of batteries so that if sun doesn't do it's job for a few days and batteries deplete, I can quickly swap in the spare batteries which have been charging in the garage using the supplied mains charger. It's not a perfect, install-and-leave-alone-forever setup, but it works for us and is much better than having to get in and out the car and walking through mud to open and close the gate every time.

If you are a bit quick with the buttons before the open or close sequence has completed it will mess up the open/close function of both gates whereby one gate will stop and the other will open. This can be overcome with the addational buttons on the remotes programmed to control each opener seperatly so you can put the open/close operation back in sequence.My gates have been in operation for 1 month now, no issues or problems have become evident.They are operated between 10 and 15 times a day and living in the north east of Ireland, we dont exactly get sunshine all day long so it is good to see that the solar system is keeping the batteries nicley charged.
