This product works as described. It keeps my hair moisturized without making it feel oily or heavy. Even if I do not use the product every day, I do not have to worry about my hair looking dry or brittle. It does the job!

Update - 19 January 2014Since going natural, I learned that natural hair responds best to natural products so I've begun using Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus hair lotion. The Shea Moisture product line is free of parabens and sulfates and contains only natural ingredients. I use this lotion in combination with a mixture of Hollywood Carrot Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or Pure Olive Oil, depending on what I have in my kitchen). I mix these two oils, half and half, in an old Doo Gro bottle for easy application. Doo Gro products are not all natural; when I need a new bottle, I pour it out. The lotion by itself does not provide enough moisture for my hair, hence the reason I use the combination of carrot and olive oil, which I apply directly to my scalp at 5 different points and massage through my hair with my fingertips.For shampoo, I use Avalon Organics Biotin Thickening Shampoo. It is 70% organic, and contains sulfates. Although it isn't all natural, I find that most organic shampoos don't clean very well because they lack the sulfates necessary to make lather. I don't like my hair to be dirty so I feel this is a fair compromise. For conditioner I use Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque w/Sea Kelp and Argan Oil. I love this conditioner because it is thick, leaves my hair soft and pliable, and leaves a nice scent.The cheapest place to purchase the Shea Moisture products is Target, online or in the store. The products are listed on Amazon and Drug Store.com; however, they are grossly overpriced. If you have a membership at Sally's you can get it cheaper for about a dollar less than Target. Avalon Organics can be purchased at Drug Store.com (cheapest); I've never seen it in stores. Amazon has it as well and if you catch it at the right time, you can get it much cheaper than Drug Store. A few months ago, it was on sale for $5, normally its 12.99. I purchased 6 because that will last me about 6 months washing my hair every three-five days. This shampoo goes a long way and keeps my hair thick, which is why I like it.I hope this update helps anyone considering going natural. I had to find something different from the 'natural curl' products. The one below was my favorite, yet over time, as with other 'natural curl' products, they all end up smelling like a jerry curl because they contain the same ingredients. And they are not all natural.Good luck on your journey learning your hair. It took some time, but I love being natural. It fits my personality and it fits me. Of all the ones I've tried, I think this one is the best overall as it has a pleasant scent, works great in bringing out my natural curl, and isn't too heavy, so it doesn't make my hair dirty.I've tried Smooth & Shine Curl Activator - it was excellent at making my hair very curly; however, it flaked profusely and became hard, forcing me to rinse my hair every one to two days. It also made my hair smell like a jerry curl, which I don't like.I've also tried Pro-Line Wave Gel which provides good moisturizer; its downside is that its too heavy. To compensate, I would use water every other day instead of applying the Pro-Line everyday, but in the end, the heaviness of the gel weighed my hair down and felt very dirty by the end of the week.The other product I like and is probably a close second to this one is Soft n Sheen's Gold Curl Activator. My issue with it was primarily the heaviness of it which also made my hair feel dirty. The upside of it is that I could use water every other day to minimize the heaviness.I've been using this product for a week now, and it isn't very greasy, I can make it stretch using water to avoid putting it on everyday. And it smells wonderful, not at all like a jerry curl, which the previous products all had in common. I don't know why that is and can't figure it out. While it is a little heavy, it doesn't become dirty and my hair doesn't feel as such by the end of the week. Overall, I believe I'll stick with this product.

One of the best products I have used so far. Makes your hair soft and manageable

I have used Softsheen for years. However it is hard to find at Sally’s beauty supply store. I could only find it on Amazon. However Amazon only had the small size and I thought it cost a lot for a small bottle. The large size was not available.

This cream will hold your hair style and define your curls and waves. I always use a little water on my hair when I use the cream. My hair is short and a combination of wavy, curly and fuzzy. I generally wet my hair and then I use a little bit more than a quarter size drop of the cream which I apply with my hands and then I comb my hair into the style I wear. My hair does feel dry the next day sometimes.
