fantastic product/lock&lock technology combined with vacuum freshness
i received my order today and it was all i expected. it has the easy handling and security of lock &lock canisters, nice handfeel plastic, not the flimsy storage quality container that a lot of products are made of today, but what i really wanted to know if my zwillig electrical handheld vacuum sealer would work on the container also - and i am glad to report that it does. i know it comes with a manuell sealer and that works great also, but i wanted the easy convenience of an automatic sealer. i have arthritis in my hands and the manuel pump is somewhat difficult for me. the containers are of a good size, actually, i had expected much smaller boxes, so again, this was a nice surprise and the cost is justified. love the product and look forward to seeing other sized containers. what i would like to find would be containers that can store sandwich deli slices, meat or cheese which are basically all sized similar, maybe grouped in pairs of two or three all the same size, this would ensure that food product would stay fresh longer but are still easy storaged in the refrigerator. overall, i can recommend this product - i like it very much

Trouble with quality control? - NO!
Update 1/23 - after working with the seller we did some testing and upon discovering the issue, they promptly sent me 3 replacement lids. Now all containers are sealing and holding their vacuum. These containers are great, and I will likely be purchasing more!! Short term items like bean sprouts, spinach and strawberries last MUCH longer using this product. The seller was very helpful and prompt in addressing my issue. Two thumbs up! I bought this product based on positive reviews. To be fair, when they work they work great. However, I have three lids that keep leaking air. That's a 30% failure. Maybe I just got a bad batch. I'll contact supplier but its really not worth effort to return. The ones that work work well. I've had spinach and bean sprouts in them for just over a week with no degradation of product. Usually sprouts only last a couple of days. Would be nice if I could use my FoodSaver vacuum but the pump provided can be used with little effort. I would definitely buy again if I were confident that all lids would work as designed.

Vacuum part is iffy but great containers otherwise
I got these because I needed new containers. The vacuum pump doesn't work equally well on all of them. Some are very easy to seal and some don't hold the vacuum well at all. I have an electric sealer and other containers that are made for it. These ones have a completely other type pump so if you are looking for a cheap alternative to an electric one this is not it. They are good containers though, with flaps that snap closed and a thick gasket.

These seem to be exactly what I've been looking for, for a long time.
I've had these containers a little over 2 weeks, so this isn't a long-term review, yet. If anything changes I'll update. I have all but one of the containers in use. * Several of these containers get opened and resealed several times a day, every day. A couple have been opened and resealed just a few times since I bought them, and one, my test container filled with uncooked rice, got sealed the day I got them more than 2 weeks ago and it's still holding the vacuum. I live where it's warm and very humid and food goes stale very quickly. I've tried a couple of other container products and neither of them worked this well. (I won't go into details here, but you can check the other reviews.) As long as these continue to work this well, this is exactly what I've been looking for, for a long time. I cut a pear in half, and put one half in one of these, sealed it and put it in the fridge. 3 days later it looked almost as if I'd just cut it in half. It had barely any discoloration. It was still crisp and tasted great. I haven't used them in the freezer yet, but I did microwave some rice from the day before in one. I put some popped popcorn into the bigger container and the next night it was still crisp. Since due to the vacuum, the containers change shape slightly, the lids don't seem to line up perfectly to get it back on byt just setting it squarely on top. The simple solution is to start with a corner. Seat one corner, then push the lid onto the container at the edges all the way around until you're back at the start, and you're all set. It takes a couple of seconds and saves you some frustration. After a bit longer-term testing, I will be buying more - I need them. * One of the valves won't hold the vacuum. Due to the really smart design of these, I swapped the valve with a valve from another lid and attempted to seal them both. The good one still seals in the other lid, and the bad one still doesn't, so I was able to determine the issue was with the valve and not the lid. I contacted that manufacturer, and they immediately sent out another valve and emailed me a tracking #. It'll come next week. Updated: 09-Sep-2018 Re: Above. The manufacturer sent me two valves. One is in use and works perfectly, like the rest of them. The other is stored in case I need it. I tested these enough that I've ordered a 2nd set, which are also performing well. These are probably the best thing I've bought in a while. Note to Manufacturer: I don't understand the purpose of the lid latches. They're not needed. They wear out easily (I have one that has split and on the round containers, one that broke off right away). It's not an issue since they're simply not needed - why are they there? My suggestion would be to remove them, or come up with something different if people want to use the containers without the vacuum. These keep their 5-star rating.

Not as good as they used to be
Bought this same set a few years ago and they worked great. For some unknown reason my wife decided to donate few of the containers to Goodwill without my knowledge. Begrudgingly I ordered a replacement set. At least two of the new containers do not hold a seal. It's very annoying to open the refrigerator and see the lid bulging up on these containers indicating that the seal has been lost. Like a lot of products these days the it seems that quality on these containers has declined while the price has gone up. At least some lucky Goodwill shopper out there probably scored my old ones that actually worked for $1.

I likem / They work well for me
I like these containers. They fit the bill for what I need. I will say that the air pump recepticle on the lids can be a little finiky sometimes, but overall they really do work well. I can say I haven't had any issues. Once you get the pump going on the smaller lids, and the air is fully sucked out, don't be alarmed if the locks on the edge of the lid doesn't stay close or doesn't catch. I vacume the lids until they cave in a bit and this causes the latches to not catch. But, this doesn't matter. I've had them vacumed and the lid locks not even engauged for days and they held the vacume seal without fail. I also have the rectangular set . So far so good. The containers themselves are real good quality, very thick and sturdy. I have found them easy to clean up also.

So So
I knew going in about the customer reviews claiming these containers do not retain the vacuum. I also saw a review complaining how the containers break. What immediately came to mind was that these users could be over-vacuuming to the point of compromising the contour and structural integrity of the containers, causing air to seep in. So I decided to buy them to see for myself. There is some truth to them not retaining the vacuum. I have pumped air out of a container only to find out it has lost all the vacuum later that same day. And yet, I have seen the VERY SAME container retain vacuum for DAYS. This leads me to conclude that while they do work as advertised, the design is not the best because depending on how you put the lid on them, it may or may not leak air in. I'm thinking some gasket-type material around the top rim of the containers would alleviate this problem. Anyway, I make sure I press down the lid firmly before I snap the side latches on all four sides, and then vacuum air out of them; with that kind of caution, they have worked reasonably well. No matter what, I'm sure these containers have prolonged the freshness of scallions and broccoli I put in them, and for that, I am happy. I'm still glad I bought them, and I may even buy another set should the need arise. Only time will tell how truly durable these containers are.

Seal Well But Need a Bit Skill, Worthy It Though
I have an older set of Lasting Freshness containers (the pink seals) for almost 10 years now. I ordered a set with the new seal design and the green seals but returned it because it is not pumping out the air. I was very disappointed until I read an review about "push the blunt end of the toothpick to the center nipple/pull". I did that with one container of my set and, by George, it works. However, I noticed that in order to really pump the air out, you need to take the pump and push down first, the pump should be easy to pump (if not, try pushing it down), no need to pump too much, and it works great. I intentionally not close the claps to double-check the air pump. I have a container properly pumped and sealed in the fridge for about one week now; and the seal is still holding well. I have not tried these in the freezer or dishwasher (prefer hand wash). Even with arthritis on my fingers, the air pump is easy to use and the claps are easy to open/close. Great value as I purchased them during Cyber Monday. Love the various sizes in this set and they nest well to save much cabinet space. Thank you, Amazon.

Not Worth the Money
Not worth the money. Don’t seal properly. Doesn’t suction out the air as advertised. And one of the small lids broke when clicking onto container. I put cabbage in the larger container and it’s gone brown within 2 days. I would NOT buy this product again.

Best product I have found to keep veggies, fruits & bread fresher longer. This is the 5th type I have purchased in the last 6 months and this one really works. Worth the price. 👍👍

Tiny size: misleading pictures
Buy it if you’re a fan of miniature containers. The pictures are misleading and the containers can barely fit one chopped cucumber. Also, 9 pieces is not 9 containers: the lid is counted as 1 piece. So it’s 4 tiny containers in total for 4 tiny cucumbers.
