Wenzel Kodiak 9 person tent - Blue Review: Easily fits our family of 11! Not super high quality, but for the price an excellent value! - We have a large family so we needed something that would actually fit a large family. Many tents ADVERTISE that they are for 9, but this one actually works. We put our King blow up mattress on one side along with a pack n' play crib; plus we were able to fit shoes and two toddlers on our side. In the other "room" we put the other 6 children and we could have squeezed in more. So the "9 person" is definitely TRUE in this one. Be aware that if you are looking for a large tent, that this has straight walls which makes ALL the difference. We've even tried "12 person" tents that had arched sides and they DID NOT fit even close to 8 people! Quality is decent enough. Not super nice but honestly for the price, who cares? It works and has some little added details that are nice: mat outside, separate room divider, nice air flow, easy set up. For the price of one large hotel room for our family, we were able to go on a vacation cross country and camp and this tent more than paid for itself. Highly recommend! Review: Our new outdoor palace - Oh my goodness its nice to walk around inside of a tent, I'm 6'2" and can walk around in here no problem, floor print is including the vent/storage compartments, measures 14x12 usable area, I scotch guarded everything at home while I was test pitching, and I can put this up and down by myself, give yourself 30min to 1hr from start to finish with using a tarp floor base, proper staking, and easy going attitude... Has a room splitter down the middle between the door and window you see in the pic, there's 2 small triangle windows on each end, and bottom vents on the back side, the roof is open screen so the rain fly is needed at night, fits a queen mattress any way in one half, you'll need about 20 good solid stakes, the included ones are trash... This tent has been great so far and kept the water out too... I also got some extra para cord to make sure this was secure, we're used to lots of wind in the desert...

Easy to setup, Did well in rain pourt
Bought this a few days before camping. I didn't have time to make sure everything was in the bag or how to set it up before hand. We got to the camp site at 10PM and it took us about 45 minutes to set it up. It would have been faster had i found the instructions sooner or if it was light outside. The tent needs all the stakes in the ground first before setting up (as the instructions state). Most tents you really dont need to do this with, but this one is a must to get the sides to stand up straight. You can set this tent up with one person, but probably difficult. The tent was very roomy and had a good height (I'm 6'2 and could stand straight up in the tent with no problem). On the next day, it started raining fairly heavy for about 30 minutes. Water only got in the tent because I left one of the windows partially open. Once I closed it, we stayed completely dry. It also went through about 15MPH winds and did well once I put the remaining stakes in the ground. I'd recommend this tent to anyone. Cons: The stakes that came with the tent weren't the best. I'd recommend buying steel stakes with a sharper point. We were in some fairly hard dirct and the ones we had started to bend.

Excellent tent but a seem rip after 4 uses.
Update: I've used the tent 4 times since I purchased it in 2017. The tent is starting to Come apart at the floor seem. I always tarp the ground before placing the tent down. I keep the tent clean. I just use a moist towel to clean it inside and out. Not sure how this would stand up to an avid camper. Easy to assemble. Durable and spacious. 2 room design allows guests to change or privacy as there is a zipper wall. Whole roof is mesh with rain fly. Has extender floor windows/lockers at the bottom that unfold and sit outside the tent. Allows for ventilation and storage of items outside so they are out of the way. Great tent but if you get water or dirt in tent you can't push it out. Must be picked up. At no point do you ever have to duck while walking around inside the tent. Ceiling height is more then generous. There are more air vents/screen windows then you could ever want. Tent doesn't get hot unless you use rain fly. With fly on its still very comfortable. Tips. See diagram. Lay out parts and put all poles together put angled plastic pieces on top(metal rings up.) of upright poles. Unfold tent Insert 3 bent ridge poles into front, back and middle sleeves while keeping tent flat on ground. Start on front or back and Add straight poles with metal rings up to each bent ridge pole (Rain fly will attach to metal rings later). Make sure to push strait poles through ties on side before connecting to ridge poles. Pull on string to raise that side. Now stake it down. Bottom of straight pole goes through loop at bottom of tent with pin going inside pole and ring sits on bottom of pole. I disconnect ridge pole insert pin the stretch pole back into place. Repeat for other side. Rain fly attaches to ring on straight pole plus has lines to stake down for extra support as needed. Stake tent like normal. Setup is easy once you have done one pole set.

Great tent, good price
We got this tent for family camping, and we love it! It is the biggest tent I have ever seen, which is great when camping with kids and all their gear. I definitely recommend placing a tarp or pad of some sort under the tent as the bottom liner is very thin and could be easily torn on a rock/stick/root etc. Also, we hung a huge tarp over the tent (strung up in trees, not touching tent) because it was raining, and this prevented any leaking issues. We are very pleased with this tent and look forward to many more camping adventures.

Okay, but has it's flaws
We got the tent and set it up for the first (and only) time in 11 minutes. Not completely up with the guy lines and all stakes, but up enough that we could have gotten out of the elements had there been any. Pros: - It's huge. Like, really really big. Big enough for two queen air mattresses and room to spare. - It's awesomely tall. My husband is 6'6" and he had more than enough room to stand (and jump, had he wanted to). - It's easy to set up, with two or more people. Cons: - Bay windows? What the heck is the point of bay windows on a tent? All they served was to add extra guy lines for the kids and myself to trip over and clothesline ourselves. - Lack of windows. There are no windows whatsoever on the back side of the tent. There are two cubby holes in the back that have little tiny screens on the back portion, but I can't see that giving any cross ventilation whatsoever....especially if you have the cubby holes zipped up. Stupid. - About 9" of the front window is unusable because of a design issue. I think they were trying to make it so you wouldn't have to use a tieback for the window flap by tucking the flap toward the window, but since the zipper doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the screen, this portion isn't usable (to look out of, get ventilation, etc.). This would be better explained by a photo but I failed to take one, so use your imagination. - The fact that it's so tall makes it virtually impossible to put the rain fly on yourself. It was even difficult for my tall husband and myself (but I'm only 5'4"). Pro/Con: -The middle room divider isn't removable. This is a pro, because you don't have to put it up and it can't get lost. It's a con, because if you don't want to divide the tent, it only serves to be in your way since....it isn't removable. All of that said, we would have kept it because we were not hating it/not loving it, but there was a small tiny tiny hole in the top screen so that pushed us to return it since we were only "meh" about it anyway. Had there not been a hole in the screen, we would have kept the tent and just grumbled about the minor inconveniences, enjoying the spaciousness.

This thing was easy to set up
I give this tent five stars for the following reasons: 1. This thing was easy to set up. My wife and I were able to set it up within 30 minutes. 2. Excellent Material: We set this thing up in the desert, with rocks beneath us and sticks. No rips, no tears, nothing. 3. Huge: So much room, and it even came with extra storage pockets to hang our personal stuff in. CONS: 1. Putting this tent back in its own bag is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. We recommend buying a large duffel bag or a storage container. Is it possible to fit it back into its package? Yes, though, you will need the patience of Job to get it in there.

it's a good tent if you are camping in the desert. but if there's any rain in the forecast, be ready to get very wet.
spacious and *nice*. but there is no flap to cover the zippers, so water pours in through the front zipper in the rain. the tent is held up by the guide lines- the poles only give it it's shape- so water pools on the rain fly in front of the door and the front window- pouring water on you should you try to enter or leave the tent. the foot lockers MUST be staked up tightly or water will pour into the tent this way as well. if you stake the tent up tight enough to alleviate the water-pooling issues, the seams tear.the door and window screens have no way of holding the flaps when open, so they just hang- and don't open all the way. after 3 rainy summers of camping we gave up and gave this away.
