Natracare Natural Traditional Style Maxi Pads, Regular, Individually Wrapped, Without Wings in Plant-Based Bag (1 Pack, 14 Pads Total)

Wow I've been missing out for years. I was an Always user, but I discovered recently that those pads (and others like Kotex) irritate the private parts. Irritation can sometimes happen, itchiness, and what seemingly was unrelated-- skin rashes/bumps on other parts of my body. I thought those things were related to the menstruation cycle, until one day I was having problems breathing and my chest was hurting. It almost felt like an on-coming attack of TSS (note: almost happened once with a tampon, so it was really alarming). That moment I discovered I was having various degrees of reactions to different brands of sanitary pads (as time went on wearing them). My research ultimately lead me to these organic cotton pads, so I decided to give these a chance. Many non-organic cotton and non-cotton pads have a lot of unknown ingredients and chemicals in them (undisclosed to the public, you can read more about it too). So first impressions: extremely soft, and the maxi pads I received were also pretty thick. I have medium to heavy bloodflow (really thick and clotting) so I was worried about how absorbent they were. Turns out they were pretty absorbent. In addition, there's no smell to them (at all), there's no irritation because the cotton is so soft and there's no additional texture cover/wrap like other brands. I also noticed that even to the end of the day, without changing it, the pad hasn't gotten any worse. (Gross I know, I should've changed it, but I still felt like I was sitting on a cloud 8 hrs into the day.) I honestly might make the switch to cloth pad in the future, but in the mean time, these pads are my go-to day pads now. One can last comfortably for the entire day and emits no odor. I recommend these if you want either more comfort, and/or a solution to pad-related to irritation.

They are great quality, love the thickness. Very very soft and comfortable, just too long for me.

These do NOT have wings! They are unscented, are thick and soft and truly comfortable to wear for the few necessary days. (about as comfortable as flannel pads--I use them, but sometimes want a disposable option.) I buy the Regular size. There's 18 in the bag and I wish they came in a larger quantity pack. As long as I need these (I'm 51 - and cycles are like clockwork) I won't buy other pads. These are very much like what I recall pads being in the 80s, as other reviewers say. I like that. These are individually wrapped. I don't like the extra trash this creates, and wish they just came flat, in the package. I plan to get these for my daughter, when her time comes, too, if reusable options don't suit her. If it's helpful, some similar pads I've tried are: Kotex Regular - wingless, unscented. Cottony texture, but not as soft. Size is narrower and shorter--perfect for a petite frame. Only listed because it's a wingless option.

As a precious Stayfree customer (switched for health reasons) I am used to the soft cottony feel and mega absorbency of the Super Long Maxi with wings. Although not as long, (and they don't hold as much) I found these to be just as comfortable and pretty absorbent. Stayed in place. It would be nice if they had "wings" on the sides to help catch overflow, since they do leak on the edges if you don't watch out. Just had to figure out how long I could go between pads and pack accordingly (and wear a dark skirt instead of jeans, you know, just in case). Because of the leaking, I don't plan on wearing them at night, unless its near the end when I have lighter flow (I have a cloth overnight Punkys Pad for that). But they work great for days at work when I don't feel like dealing with a cloth pad. I can just throw it away and get back to work. Also individual wrapping would make them easier to carry in my purse, but I just tri-fold them and tuck them in the "dry' side of my wet/dry travel bag and that works fine. (Less packaging is better anyway, right?) All in all these pads are making my switch from commercial feminine pads to natural feminine pads virtually painless.

Great product

I really love the soft, cloth-like feel of these pads. They are much more comfortable than the plastic-like feel of many other brands. However, my biggest issue was that the pad tended to bunch up and did not stick well. Several of them shifted or came off when I sat down, which was inconvenient and felt unsanitary. Overall, I liked the natural feel and comfort, but I will keep looking for something that stays in place better.

Absolutely the best! So comfortable and great for heavy to light use. Here's the deal, I actually loved those insanely big puffy pads u use to get in the high school quarter slot machines or the crazy hospital pads they sent you home with after a baby. These are kind like those FYI. I Hate hate hate the synthetic crap on the market these days with their dry weave sticky plasticy bs lining that feels awful and sticks to you like sweaty leather on a hot day. NOOO THANKS. I want real organic soft cotton and breathable comfort, my girl deserves the best and this is it. I've been buying these for a year and I've got them now on subscription order for convenience. No they don't come individually wrapped and no I don't care. I can easily wrap a few up to go if needed and it sure is better than shoving a finger up my hoohaa to dig out a 'reusable' cup in a public restroom (gross) or contaminating my body with toxins (Double yuck), or leaking through some inferior product and destroying my clothes and privacy. Nope, these babies are on repeat till my annoying, and at this point useless, Aunt Flo finally kicks the bucket once and for all... till then, I'm a fan.
