Storm Drain FSD-3017-G20B 20-in. Round Flat Green Grate for Catch Basin

This was exactly what I wanted. It fits perfectly onto the 18 inch well I was trying to cover with 1 inch lip as a perimeter. It is also thicker and more durable than I thought it would be. No worries about people walking on it or running lawnmowers over it. As I said earlier, exactly what I wanted, and at a very reasonable price.

Very sturdy make of a hard plastic. I weight about 220 and could jump and down on it and it didn’t budge.

I've buried a couple of downspout lines using 4inch sch 40 pipe and terminated them across the fence into a pasture. I wanted a larger than normal basin and didn't want to spend the ~$80 for the 20" basin. Came across this and liked the fact that it could handle light traffic just in case I forget and run over it. Originally I buried a 5 gallon bucket and laid this over the top but due to the support 'ribs' on the underside of this grate it wasn't ever level and wouldn't stay down. I had a black tub that calf minerals came in and this thing fit almost perfectly in the top of it. I had to cut 3 of the tabs from the outer ring off but after that it fit and screwed down perfectly. Very happy with the result.

Purchased this to place over an in ground sump, atop which I have an ever-flowing fountain. The vessel portion of the fountain holds at most 30 gallons of water. So approximately 240 lbs. of water, plus 100 lbs. of vessel are being supported by the grate. The description claims the grate will hold 1,000 lbs., and while it appears solidly built, I was disappointed to find that it began to sag rather dramatically in the center. So it did hold the load, but not level, and this was roughly 1/3 the total weight, which is claimed it will hold.

These grates worked out perfectly for placement in two Kitty Tubes I had purchased that kept collecting rainwater in the bottoms of them (even with the awnings). I drilled two small holes in the bottoms of the Kitty Tubes for drainage, then placed the grates inside the Kitty Tubes, then put straw on top of the grates and then placed the Kitty Tubes on top of bricks. Kitties are now happy and stay dry.

Great item. I couldn't find this item any wear else - local or otherwise. I was a little worried as I had to order it online, but once it arrived I was happily surprised by its sturdiness. I originally was looking for a square grate in that size range, but those seem hard to find at a price that I could swallow. So I bought this one and cut it square. It's toughness has shown through as it has held up to traffic.

Put in a french drain with water pump. The grate fitted perfectly over the well and is well built. We have not had a rainstorm to test the flow yet but the openings should handle the water flow.
