alcott Martingale Collar with Reflective Stitching & Neoprene Padding, Medium, Red,MCLR ES MD RD

I have been using Alcott dog collars for years. I found one in a store many, many years ago because I really liked this color. It turned out to be an excellent purchase. I owned several of these collars as I have owned several dogs. I have never had to replace any of them because they became worn out. All stitching has always remained intact, and there has been no any type fraying anywhere on any of the collars. The only reason why I have purchased additional ones or replacements, is because my dogs get dirty while playing in the yard. My dogs get lots of mud on the collars, and seem to pick up dirt when we go for walks in the woods. Using Tide powder detergent with cold, or room temperature water cleans these up nicely. They will look like new again. After a few years of repetitive washing, I decided to replace a teal colored one because I thought it looked better, definitely not because they are worn out.

As an individual with a disability going through TSA with my SD has always been stressful and extremely exhausting. His harness / lead would always set off the sensor due to it containing metal. I specifically was searching for a NON-metal collar. As I was reading the reviews on this item—the main complaint was how the buckle was not metal. Its true!! I definitely wouldn’t use this 24/7 but its perfect to switch to this before going through security and putting his metal one on the conveyor belt. This has helped to lessen one of the main stressors I face going through the airport security. I hope this helps someone else!

I bought this collar for my larger dog and just had to get one for my smaller dog as well. This is such a well made product! Very well padded where it needs to be, reflective, perfect sizing & such a strong collar! I will definitely buy these for all my dogs from here on out! Of course they are so durable other than another color I don't see needing a new one anytime soon! :)

I just ordered this to replace another Alcott collar that final started to wear out after 3 years. My only issue was that I didn't realize that this one was a slip on and not a traditional collar with a buckle like I had before. This was completely my fault, as I didn't read the description well enough.Regardless, it works well for my lab, and I don't see any risk of it slipping off. As far as quality, the new model seems to also be very good, but the ring for the leash attachment doesn't seem to be as sturdy as my previous collar.

When I received and adjusted based upon my pups size, I put it on and realized it was too tight. THEN I also realized, there is NO clasp, no clip/closure. Therefore, I had to force back off of my pup, over his head. Charging me over 5.00 to return with UPS drop off being only option Despite being a PRIME MEMBER...

This was a replacement for a collar the was ruined post skunking. Love the collar and brand, need more with safety clips for my younger girl so she can be dazzled in Alcott but getting off topic!Easy on and off, padded nicely, and the color is really a lovely pink where my husband doesn't complain about it being too femme.

1) I prefer a collar does has a clasp, but didn't realize this one didn't. It needs to fit large enough to go over the head but still stay on the neck. Not ideal. 2) the Large was just too large for my 45lb dog. So, I won't be using it.

Still works well... after use for over a year. BUT, the collar has faded badly, even though it hardly ever gets wet.
