Can anyone recommend a pan that doesn't have a hump in the center?

after buying a brand new Michaelangelo 10" fry pan six months ago that had this issue, i was wondering why new fry pans have a convex shape. interesting to see that cheap pans can do this by mine was right out of the box. reading reviews of so many different fry pans of that size, i'm surprised to see reviews both saying that the pans are flat and convex for the same make and model with differing review dates. being that this question was asked in 2013, i guess this is either a manufacturer design us mortals don't know about or a long-standing design issue?

what is the best lid to buy for this frypan?

To get a lid that fits both pans, buy T-fal Nonstick Cookware with Glass Lid A9108263, 5-Quart which is a great pan to use for many dishes, including stir-fry and braising recipes (up to 350F in oven).

Is this pan compatible with an induction cooktop? (Without adding a heating disk between the cooktop and pan.)

Since people have mixed results with different cooktops, I wanted to note that it works great with a GE Profile induction range (PHS930)

Is this pan made in France?

I called the T-Fal customer service number 1/3/14 at 1pm Eastern and they said Group SEB, the company's headquarters is in France, but the Professional cookware line is manufactured in China. Please be aware, Group SEB also owns Air Bake, Mirro, WearEver and All Clad so production of all items in these brands may be changing their original point of manufacture. If manufacturing in a certain country is important to the consumer, research with the manufacturer immediately before (and after) purchase is recommended.
