How do you use these. . . .do you just suction them like the other bags? What is with the folding?

You would Vacuum and seal these just like the other FoodSaver bags. We do recommend folding in the side pelts and pull tightly for a proper seal.

These bags look neat, just how wide do they open and how does a roll bsg work with this?

The bag measures 10 3/16" across when flattened. Each fold (side pleats) measure 5 1/4", so you have more than 20" of it completely opened.The problem I had with the bag was getting it to seal. Say you have a 10# turkey in a roasting pan, you put it in the bag. The instructions tell you to "neatly tuck or fold-in the side pleats to remove all wrinkles before inserting." Obviously inserting into the vacuum sealer. It also advises to add 5" to the length. Well as far as I'm concerned, you need to add 8 to 10" if you are going to get the bag to completely flatten at the opening so you can seal it without any wrinkles. You have used up almost the whole roll for one use. Gets expensive!Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by bsg.T

We have a 33Ibs turkey, and we have others about the same size. Do you think these bags would fit?

These will open to 20 inches . So size is more important than weight. Be aware that you need to leave enough of the bag to lay flat to seal. This could be 8-10 inches. This seems kind of expensive to me.

How thick is the plastic in mils? It should be at least 4 mil thick.
