The most important thing you can bring to Kentucky in the spring
Recently I planned a girls weekend to visit a horse event in Kentucky (end of April). Weather down there at this time can run from snow to tropical but is mostly rainy. Living in the desert myself I don’t have need for rain gear. I selected this poncho because I was looking for something long enough to give my legs protection while I was carrying a large camera bag. This was the best money I spent on this trip. The poncho is big. I am 5’10 and it covered me to about mid calf. It dried quickly and stored in a bag. It does not however pack down as small as some, but since it is durable and long I was not expecting a micro-packable item. All that is what I expected from a poncho. Here are the ways I felt it went above and beyond: -the hood has a brim and is slightly shaped. This meant that it stayed over my baseball hat like it was glued there. Even when the wind picked up. -Velcro sides were great when I was using my large camera in the rain at my seat, made it easy to get it covered when the rain picked up. Also good for ventilation while walking around in less heavy rain. -it is opaque enough that my friend changed her pants and put on shorts under it in a field full of people. -however it lets enough light in at least in the grey color that in a short hail storm I was able to duck my hat into the neck and eat my nachos (photo attached). -I didn’t make it into a tent with the grommets but I did use it as a dry place to sit as well as a place to sit my camera bag. -it was also large enough to go over the back of my chair, and still cover my knees and bag in normal stadium type seating. If you want to stay dry and need a cheap poncho get this one. I have mine packed for the next adventure already.

Impressed with quality
I was hiking in Tennessee last year and an unexpected rain storm rolled in. I had a $5 poncho and although me and my hiking bag were dry...my hat and face were drenched. I couldnt take it off for shelter because it wasnt big enough. It was too much rain and not enough poncho. I am going hiking again and needed something that would solve my problem. This seems to be it. I know I will be able to use it with hiking poles (I prefer to hike with my arms and poles inside the poncho.) But the arm holes with velcro closure - amazing! The quality is exceptional and I can already tell that it will be keep me dry in some serious rain. The hood is great with a velcro opening at the neck so you can put your poncho on while wearing a hat (I tested it). The beak at the top of the hood is long but no longer than a baseball cap. It will def keep my hat dry and water off of my face. Speaking of water on the face, the drawstring on this poncho is going to be very useful. I can tell that it will keep the water out since it cinches tightly if you want. It can be argued that it's "big" as in too much fabric but based on my past experience, this seems to be a necessity. I am 5'6 and it fits well. The material doesn't make noise when you walk either. My only con would be that I wish the blue I ordered was more subtle but in an emergency...bright blue might be a good thing. Buy the poncho already. It's worth it. Lastly, the bag it comes with is perfect for keeping the poncho under control in your bag. Of course I wasnt able to put it back in that bag how it was sent but I got darn close.

Waterproof, big, and versatile
This rain poncho performed well. I bought this to keep me dry on the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu at the end of the rainy season. When it rained, I threw this poncho over my whole body and backpack, and it fit well. It kept me and my backpack dry. The only issue is the velcro on the sides. Sometimes it would come undone, although I can see how having the sides detachable would be useful in other situations. Overall, a good buy. Decent price, and performance was solid.

It looks well designed & made-I need stil to test it out. ** Test out great in rain!
Received my Foxelli poncho from Amazon yesterday. It looks really nice—better that I had expected. The material is pleasant, it fits well, and the Velcro fasteners are nicely placed to keep it closed. I like the grommets for making it serve as a tarp. I first used the old army surplus rain ponchos since back in the 60's & I'd say this seems to be the best I've seen for a reasonable price in many years. I wanted to wait for a chance to try it in a rain storm, but the weather around here stabilized as soon as I received the poncho, & it hasn't rained since--maybe that's another feature--it makes the rain stop! I'll add to this once I've put it to the test & I expect I'll raise the rating to a 5 if it works as well as it looks like it will. *** Update: I was finally able to try it in a good rain, & it worked great. It's long enough to keep my pants legs dry (I'm only 5'8", & it comes to the top of my boots. The Velcro side fasteners are easy & quick to use & help keep it from flapping. I also works well on an ATV, keeping water from pooling up in the crotch area which is uncomfortable & embarrassing!

Satisfied and Personally Recommend
DISCLAIMER - I have not yet field tested this poncho in wet conditions as of writing this review on Sept. 15, 2020. This is a first impressions review of the product. OVERALL: Satisfied with my purchase and would personally recommend this brand/product to friends and family. PROS -Poncho folds up and fits compactly in a 6 x 10.75 inch pouch. -Fabric feels durable and sewn together well. -4 metal grommets located at the bottom corners and 2 grommets for the dawstring around the neck. -5 strips of velcro contact to reduce leakage. -Stylish pattern CONS -Visor on the hood obstructs visibility and is quite floppy -Slightly heavier when compared to similar ponchos if you are into ultra-lite backpacking -Can become a tripping hazard if you are a shorter individual DETAILS: Packaging - Came neatly folded inside a durable and reusable carrying pouch w/ drawstring. The pouch is approximately 6x10.75 inches. Durability - The poncho itself feels fairly durable and is stitched together very well. I was very impressed by the stitching around the velcro where it would need to sustain a lot of tugging and pulling. Keep in mind that I have not yet field tested this poncho in the rain. Design - I like how there is a metal grommet at the bottom four corners to convert the poncho into a temporary shelter if you should choose to. There is also a small triangular pocket at the grommet areas to insert tent poles if needed to, however, I don't believe that they added the pocket for that reason. There are 5 strips of velcro contact to prevent water from entering (2 strips located on the left edges, 2 strips on the right edges, 1 strip around the neck area). Velcro on the sides are located right below where your arms extend out and also at the knee area (I stand 5 feet 6 inches tall). The drawstring for the head area is also protected by metal grommets to prevent tearing or ripping from over-using the drawstring. There is a visor to reduce rain from splashing into your eyes, however, the visor is very floppy and significantly reduces visibility. (I would recommend folding back and taping down the visor for better visibility.) Size - The poncho has a vertical length of 48 inches and a horizontal width of approximately 55 inches (when laid flat). As an individual standing at 5 feet 6 inches tall, the poncho came halfway down to my shin/ankle area when worn (might be shorter if poncho is worn over backpack). This can become a trip hazard if you are a short person. The poncho also came up to my wrists when I extended my arms parallel to the ground (I have a wingspan of 69.5 inches from fingertip to fingertip). Weight Comparison - The Foxelli poncho (11 ounces) is slightly heavier than other comparable ponchos like the Frogg Toggs Ultra-Lite2 Poncho (9 ounces).

Great in my hunting pack
I’m 6’2” 350lbs this poncho easy fits me and covers me well... I bought it for hunting. I liked the camo pattern and the Velcro on the side and around the neck that allows me to keep he poncho closed up in windy and rainy weather. I like the fact that it easily rolls up and is light in my pack. The grommets make it easy to use as a shelter if needed or even a fly. I haven’t had to cold of a rainy day yet to tell if it will hold in the warmth well.. but I have little doubt I’ll have much trouble with it. Material seems to be holding up well... i would definitely buy another, and recommend to friends... if I had any complaints it would be that the company logo is white and is like a neon sign on the camo background. Really wish it could have been black or green or something that would have blended well... but I can live with it...

Awesome!
Love the poncho with the galaxy print! It's pretty, super lightweight, & very easy to fold up & return to its carrying pouch. It covers so much more than traditional raincoats, yet is much more comfortable, in my opinion, because it's so lightweight & airy. It repels waters just as well as any vinyl, nylon, or any other material raincoat, without causing you to overheat, in the process. You can choose to close off the sides, for a more "coat-like" feel, like creating "sleeves", by utilizing the velcro tabs on the sides. The hood has a nice brim on it, which I didn't notice when I bought it, so that was like a bonus! That makes it great for not only keeping your head dry, but for preventing rain from hitting your face. Even when it rains at an angle, & you happen to be caught in it, the brim would make it easier to grab the end, & protect your face. Awesome poncho at an amazing price! Highly recommended! Thank you for making a great product!

XL poncho for big people
A really good lightweight poncho for taller people. Used in a festival and it kept me dry whether standing or sitting, so top marks for waterproofing. At 6’1” the poncho comes to just below my knees so my legs don’t get too soaked. Also plenty of room to tuck your arms inside, even if you’re a 20 stone lump like me. Seems well made too, but the material is quite light, so don’t expect it to resist tree branches and thorns like something heavier. Surprisingly easy to get back in its stuff sack too as these kind of things are often way too tight. The hood is large and can fit over a baseball cap or beanie no problem. It might even fit over a bicycle helmet but I’ve not tried that.

Betrug
Poncho ist leider nicht wasserdicht. Auch sind die Seiten offen und werden nur mit drei kurzen Klettverschlüssen zusammengehalten. Für jeglichen Einsatz komplett ungeeignet.

It's SPACE!!!
Bought two of these on sale (the galaxy print ones were finally the same price as the other patterns). They kept us mostly dry while camping. We tend to move around a lot in the rain to fetch water, cook food, and use the loo, so our arms and ankles got a bit wet. If you were standing still at a sporting event or some other outdoor gathering I'm sure they'd work even better. Would give 5 stars for the GALAXY print alone. It is without a doubt the best looking of all the patterns.
