I picked up this shredder for home and small office use, and it has exceeded my expectations. Despite its compact size, it handles up to 8 sheets at a time with ease, and even credit cards shred without jamming. The 4.1-gallon bin is perfectly sized, large enough to go a few sessions without emptying but still small enough to tuck neatly under a desk. What sets this apart from other small shredders I’ve tried is how smooth and quiet it operates. Many cross-cut shredders in this price range feel flimsy or struggle with multiple sheets, but this one is consistent and efficient. The safety features and easy-to-empty design also make it a pleasure to use without worrying about mess or accidents. I have had shredders before, but none have worked as well or felt as sturdy as this one. I had a shopping bag full of papers I needed to have shredded, so I bought this 12 sheet shredder instead of taking the papers (junk mail w/my info on it, bills, etc.), to a UPS store. No problems shredding all of it, including old credit cards. A couple of times I put too many sheets in at once, and the shredder stopped, I hit the reverse, and easily removed the stuck sheets without any harm to the machine. It did not overheat (my old one did after just a few minutes), and storing it after I was done, was easy. The basket is a bit on the small side, though adequate and much sturdier than my old shredder’s. The glass (hard plastic?) window in the basket made it easy to see when it needed to be emptied. The top that contains the shredding system and all the electricals to run it, is very heavy, thus, it was good to have a sturdy basket. The top fits well into the basket. My previous shredder always felt unstable, but this one did not. I will probably be using WD-40 oil to make sure it continues to work well. I need to learn how often that is recommended, and will fully read through the enclosed instructions to learn how often - if it’s recommended at all. Some comments mentioned it before I decided to buy this, so I’ll look into it since I never oiled other shedders. (Maybe that’s why they didn’t last? - Who knows…) For this one, though: so far, so good. Seems to be well worth the $40 price.

This paper shredder was exactly what I needed at a low price point for handling mail and old credit cards. The cross-cut feature provides a level of security that is more than adequate for home use, and the 4.1-gallon bin is easy to empty. I’m giving it 4 stars because while it works great for a few sheets at a time, it does need a cool-down break if you try to do a massive stack of papers at once—but for the price and convenience, it’s an excellent value!

I needed a shredder due to ours failing. This how ever jammed up no way get it unstuck. Should have returned it as a failure. I don’t know what ever happened to it. I wasn’t satisfied with this shredder.

Works well, shreds almost anything!

Works great and will last if used properly. Don't try to over work it by stuffing it with real tick paper or materials.

Best shredder I've bought. It's a powerhouse. Other shredders always jam but not a single problem with this one so far and I shred everyday. It's quiet, easy to move (on rollers), easy to empty, large capacity and the perfect height. I can keep it under my desk and feed papers easily without wheeling it out. Super handy! I've read some comments about autofeed not working with smaller items like receipts/envelopes. The autofeed works for these, you just have to place it in the middle of the feeder. I highly recommend this shredder.

If you are thinking about it, buy it. I have had it for 2-3 years. Still works great, don't over feed it, let's stay true, this is not commercial value. I can shred up to apx.10 sheets at a time.

Pros: Workmanship and materials used are very good. Works great right out of the box Cuts fed items into approximately 1/8in x 1in chips. Great for destroying personal information and making it harder to be stolen. Rated to cut 12 sheets at a time. Tested with12 sheets and it passed with such ease that it makes you feel as though it can handle a few more in the bundle. Cuts credit cards without a hitch Cons: 1. This is not a complaint but an after thought that some may find it to be. The cutter unit is a bit on the heavy side. I am assuming it is because of a larger than normal motor and heavier blades which are the only logical reason for the weight and the 12page rating. Very happy if it is and makes it value for the money.
