Strong and Soft!
I bought this fan brush to use with my TCA peel. It works very well. It helped me apply the serum in a nice even layer and kept it from running down into my eyes. This works much better than a cotton ball or pad and it helps reduce the amount of serum being used for each application. I have saved a lot of money by switching to this brush! I used to use cotton that would absorb as much as I wanted to give it, which was always too much! This brush only holds what it can so you're not wasting a lot of expensive serums! I have had this brush for about 1 year and have used it about 10 times and it is still in great shape! I use a 14% TCA peel so I think that's pretty nice this brush has held up so well! I am very happy with the quality and longevity of this brush!

No longer use it as it was intended
Good quality. I originally bought this to go with the lactic acid serum. I was fine during all stages of the serum except the last one when I was at full strength at which point it burned my face. It took a week to heal and I didn't notice any scar fading at all...but I know it takes a while to work. More effort than it was worth in my opinion. I have stopped using it and have gone to a prescribed ointment for my scarring in lieu of the chemical peel route. It was the same price as one bottle of the serum but I use it twice a day with no nasty side effects to my skin and in 2 weeks, I have noticed a substantial difference in the scarring. BUT, I found another great use for this brush. When my skin is really dry, I will use this to do an oil cleaning routine on my face. I pour some almond, avocado, or vitamin E oil (the Jason brand is GMO free and has almond and avo oils in it) into a small dish and use the brush to spread it on evenly, just like I would have done with the chemical peel serum. I used to do it with a cotton ball but kept finding the cotton getting stuck to my face, especially around my eyes, which was not pleasant.

Works great for me.
This is a great brush for applying highlighting powder. It picks up just the tiniest amount and I can sweep it over my cheekbones once and I'm done. This brush may be used for applying chemical peels but it works great for hiighlighter as well. I wanted a fan brush with minimum bristles that wouldn't pick up too much powder. I suppose I could even trim these bristles if I wanted to and it would still be awesome. It's the perfect size for highlighting the under eye area and the tops of my cheekbones. I swipe it across the pan once and then tap the excess off and then apply. This brush was super cheap but it works as well as any expensive fan brush, probably better. It has synthetic bristles, which is fine with me. When using highlighter, the fewer the bristles the better. This brush is really great and a true bargain. I highly recommend it for applying highlighter powder. And of course, you can use it to apply a chemical peel too!

Worked okay
I bought this to apply salicylic acid chemical peel solution to my face. It worked alright, but it doesn’t hold much solution so you kind of have to dip back in after each small application. I have acne issues pretty much all over my face and some on my back and shoulders. This makes it less than practical for me to apply the chemical peel solution using this fan brush. It would be okay if you needed spot treatment in a small area, but if you need to apply to your whole face or large parts of your body then you’re better off finding another applicator. It’s not a bad brush but it’s not useful for my and most likely most peoples use cases. TLDR: does not apply well to large areas. If you want something for small areas of skin this may work for you; otherwise I don’t recommend.

Fading hyper pigmentation
Pretty sure after four years I'm watching the birth control induced melasma on my cheeks and forehead peel away slowly. It's breaking up into lighter patches and bright spots I haven't seen in a long time. It's going to be a process but I'm confident over time I'll get my healthy glow back. Here's the clincher with melasma though. In my experience, you have to stop the hormonal reaction on the inside of your body first. Stay away from chemical sunscreen (I use diaper rash cream at 18% zinc), soy, flax and anything else that contains phytoestrogens or alters hormonal balance. This was true for me since my melasma was caused by the Mirena IUD - removed years ago. About 18 months ago I was drinking flax milk which contains higher levels of phytoestrogens than pretty much anything else and the melasma got worse. Once I stopped drinking it, I noted for over a year that there was no new hyper pigmentation being formed. That's when I was pretty sure my hormones went back to balance and now it's just a matter of removing pigmented layers of skin. So take your supplements, eat your veggies, and stay away from phytoestrogens. Also, stay calm. Meditate or whatever works for you. Stress is a huge factor in anything but also produces cortisol - a hormone that changes the body in many ways. I'm by no means a health nut but these simple things have helped me. Now here's hoping it all fades by the end of the year.

Too stiff for tca and glycolic acid peels
The bristles on this brush are too stiff for glycolic acid or tca serum. The bristles poke your skin and flip the acid around during application onto your face; even when using it slowly and gently. When using, some of the glycolic acid actually flipped/splattered into my eye! That was scary. I have used glycolic acid for chemical peels many times before with a softer fan brush and had no issues at all. But I believe this brush is kind of dangerous to use for that. I might try to use the brush with a thicker lotion at some point but I will never attempt to use it with any kind of acid solution again. I would recommend to anyone that is purchasing this brush, that they use it to only apply water on their face first. That way they can determine if any liquid flips or splatters before they try it with any kind of acid.

Soft product application on the skin
I use fan brushes to apply cosmetic products to the skin. Some products can be mixed with water for easier application and other can be mixed products that resolve skin issues such as: anti aging, aromatherapy oils that reuce redness and irritation, Hyaluronic acid for added moisturizing to name a few, By using brush one can control how much product is used and reduce wasting expensive producs and ingredients. Brush hair is so soft it almost feels like feather is moving across the face. I will buy more of these, preferrably in different colors so I can use them for face treatments and body treatments by color coding brushes for each purpose.
