Ubiquiti Instant Mesh Router Only
Not written a review before, but thought this is a perfect opportunity to give my opinion about this product.I'll say straight off the bat, I work in I.T. and have used Ubiquiti products before - and honestly really like them so I'll try be as unbiased as possible.I moved into a new apartment and got a new ISP line (it's not a gig fibre line that I wished for when blowing out my birthday candles - but it's faster than the previous place I lived), the ISP provided me, typically, with a pretty cheap ADSL Modem Router, which is fine - until I started to get problems. My main issues with the original router were following;- Single band 2.4GHz- Low Router Memory- No MIMO support- It didn't even have 802.11 a/c- I am in an apartment where there's loaaaaaaads of Wi-Fi signals around (which is obviously not good when on a pure 2.4GHz frequency)I began searching for some routers and although you can get ones that will do pretty much what the Ubiquiti instant mesh router does for cheaper, none of them have the aesthetic or enterprise pedigree that Ubiquiti do.The set up for this device was easy. Very easy. Pretty much plug and play, which for users who aren't too tech savvy is a massive boon (I will note that if you're plugging this into your ISP provided modem/router you will want to turn your old router into bridge mode)Next you have the app - this has clearly been built by an experienced company and development team as it includes most of the features that a home router will require (I note most as some additional availability would be nice for advanced features) - but as I said this is for standard users that don't really want to mess with any settings. The app is clean functional and provided you with all the useful data that you could require, as well as amending settings in a simple way - i.e. turning on the guest network is as easy as pressing a button.Next the hardware - this router is a beast for it's small size (Not much bigger than an Echo Dot), it supports 802.11 a/c / is dual-band / has Band Steering (auto detects signal and puts you on 5GHz or 2.4GHz to improve performance) / Router Steering (Useful in a mesh) / Allows multiple SSID's etc...One draw back is the lack of Gigabit ethernet ports of which there's one, but get your self a network switch and you're sorted, plus if you need the extra ports the £150 big brother of this device has 4.After settings up the Instant Mesh Router and doing some tests before and after, I got a pretty decent speed increase from a 40Mb down on the old router to around 50/54Mb down using the Ubiquiti - I put this down mostly to being able to use the less congested 5GHz channel and this is based on WiFi speeds not with a direct ethernet connection.I feel that if you fall into one of these groups then you can't go wrong;- You're not tech savvy and want an easy to use router / app- You want a set it and forget it system- You want something that looks stylish but is functional- You want an easily upgrade-able mesh network that's constantly updatedOh and Ubiquiti Teleport is free and is pretty much an instant VPN to your home network - what more could you want when travelling to access your home countries Netflix etc!!!Hope this helps any potential users!

Fantastic product!
These are great. Ubiquiti have nailed it with the Amplifi Instant. The router alone is perfect for my 3 bed semi even though it’s placed in a corner at the front of the house. My advice would be to buy the router as a standalone product and see how the coverage is for you. If you find that you need more coverage, buy another one as it will connect to your existing router as a mesh point. It’ll cost just £15 more than buying the kit version. In most average sized houses you’ll get good WiFi coverage from just the router alone if it’s placed centrally. They are also a piece of cake to set up and have a nice, clean and simple smartphone app. Connecting a mesh point is so easy, just plug it in to the mains and wait for it to boot. It’ll show up immediately in the app and will ask you if you want to add it to your existing network. One click to confirm and it’s done. So so easy.

Business grade WiFi performance for the home
If you find the Ubiquiti product line too daunting but want the performance this is a great product to go for. Simple setup with great wireless coverage.ProsSmall units that don't look intrusiveEase of setup and managementCan add additional routers as mesh pointsTeleport VPN gives you a private connection back to your home network with very little setupOptional ethernet backhaul so mesh points can be linked via cableConsRouter only has one LAN portWould be good to buy additional mesh points instead of having to buy the Amplifi HD mesh points or another routerLive usage isn't viewable for devices connected via ethernet

Great setup for a Mesh network and great price
Bought this to go with my duel pack which was more than enough for my home but I needed the additional ethernet output for a older TV which needs a cable connection. It linked up to the system great and the speed is amazing compared to my old extender setup and devices just connect seamlessly. Coverage is great and the app for the phone is excellent with the ability to see all device give them there own icons and even pause there access if I wanted. If you need more than one unit then buy the duel pack first (it works out cheaper) then buy this if you need to extend.

Works like a dream
This thing is a dream. Plugged it in and was away in just no time! Before that I was struggling with a rubbish Virgin Media super hub, which is the biggest pile of junk - hardly any coverage, constantly needed to reset it and when I speed tested it was appealed to be getting around 2 to 15 Mbs on a line which was mean to be 100 Mbs. Plugged this in and now while house is covered and getting in the upper 80s Mbs. That’s better. Webpages load instantly. Video is streaming without a hitch. An my Zoom meetings are no longer stuttering my end. Wish I’d bought one sooner.

Brilliant to Use as a Mesh Point
I bought this router to add as a Mesh Point to my existing Ubiquiti HD Network. It's cheaper than the normal HD Mesh Point, plugs in via a wire, has an Ethernet port, looks better and the killer is that it's much cheaper.Although adding to an existing network is not covered in the very basic instructions it comes with, setting up couldn't be easier.Plug it in wait a couple of minutes and the HD router will display on its button:New device found ADD TO MESH - Press the button to accept and in a couple of minutes it's set up as a Mesh Point.Use the Ubiquiti App to check for updates and any other changes you my wish to make. They may not be the cheapest but these Ubiquiti products work like a dream. I've been using them for nearly 2 yrs without any problems whatsoever.
