Spring Chef Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop with Soft Grip Handle, Black

I am old! I love ice cream! This scoop works so well for me. It is weighted and does some of the hard digging for me. No having to add pressure to dig through very cold and hard ice cream . It is very well y made. I am very glad I bought it! Thank you for selling a superior product at a price I could afford!

We were tired of ice cream scoops that inevitably chipped and flaked, I'm assuming from a zinc coating of some sort. Couldn't help but wonder if tiny flakes of that were embedded in the ice cream. This one is just fantastic and I even prefer it over a comparable OXO scoop I bought at the same time for comparison. I like the weight and geometry it makes scooping even hard froze. ice cream easy. I will say though that my daughter prefers the geometry of the OXO scoop so maybe its a matter of hand size.

I have been using this scoop for about two months now, and I am really blown away with just how good it is for me. Some folks might find some of my preferences different from their own so I’ll try to point out some potential differences of opinion. My first positive impression was just examining it after removing from the packaging. It is really pretty. The soft black handle (in my case) was very comfortable to hold. The thing is very solid feeling and has some heft to it. It is no light weight, and I like that. Some may find it heavier than they prefer, but the vast majority of folks will like it. The scoop portion itself is a beautiful highly polished stainless steel shell with a very unique shape. This unique shape makes it very easy to scoop out very firm ice cream. The scoop design is really the high point for me. This scoop might not be the best choice for someone wanting to make perfectly round scoops for a cone, but for wholesale scooping ice cream into a bowl, it can’t be beat. There is a little lid opening feature built into the handle. It does no harm being there, but I don’t find it very useful and don’t use it. This is the best scoop I have ever owned and I totally recommend it for anyone whose main goal it to shovel ice cream into a bowl.

At last, an ice cream scoop that's sturdy enough to do the job, even on the hardest of frozen ice cream (rinse with a little water before dipping if needed), while being gentle on the hand. A most excellent design.

I am the ice cream maker in our extended friend group. I have a Whynter machine and make ice cream for all of our social functions. I had an aluminum scoop (recommended by Wirecutter) that was supposed to be the best on the market-- but definitely was not. In fact, my view is that this is the best ice cream scoop on the market. Excellent non-slip handle that fits perfectly in the hand. Scoops beautifully. Solid and durable. Cleans up easily in the dishwasher. It even comes in a turquoise color my wife loves. Just buy it-- you will like it.

Well made, easy to use, just a little heavy on the weight. Wasn't sure if I would like it because of the weight but I do.

Best scoop! It weighs a bit more....sort of heavy...but it works great!

Suprised and disappointed to see that the soft black version does not have grooves in the scoop for easy release. It's smooth, unlike the other colors. The scoop works fine, but it's not easy to shape ice cream into a round, ball shape when scooping from a pint.

I specifically chose the stainless steel version over the zinc. Does a great job, very heavy duty and easy to clean. I wash mine by hand as it only takes about 30 seconds and dishwashing detergent can be hard on the finish or color of implements.

I ordered specifically because it was stainless steel and I can see it’s the zinc plated one plus box said that it’s zinc alloy. I have returned and am still waiting for my refund!

Sturdy easy on sore hands

Had a Kitchen-Aid scoop that fell apart after 10 years and replaced it. This is a great scoop making perfect round scoops and gets through hard ice cream once heated under hot water with ease.
