Updated Review
My original comments were: "Just OK - This is smaller and of lower quality than I was expecting" After using it for over a month, I must admit it is actually quite a nice vessel. The perceived lower quality was due to its light weight, but everything has remained solidly attached and there are no leaks. In addition, I have found the thermometer to be extremely accurate for an analog unit. Something else - I use it 5-6 times a week, and it has retained its sheen despite numerous heating and cooling cycles, so I keep it out due to its attractive design. Recommended!

Nice kettle, looks good
Absolutely no issues with this kettle. Everything seems well-made. It's pretty easy to clean and fairly lightweight. It looks good, and works well on my stove.

Best in class for its price point and better than many twice as expensive
I've tried several gooseneck pour over kettles with built in thermometers, and this one is by far the best in class for reasons that are not immediately obvious. In fact, it's so much better than other, similar kettles that I'm actually bothering to write a review, which I almost never do for any of the thousands of products I purchase on Amazon.com. First advantage of this kettle is the thermal isolation of the handle. Other kettles I've owned can grow painful hot to the touch, which defeats the entire purpose of an insulated handle. The insulating material for this kettle's handle is made of a denser material than its competitors. I'm not sure exactly what material it is chemically, but it's almost definitely a thermosetting polymer--think something along the lines of your mama's bakelite insulated frying pan handle. Second, the thermal isolation of the thermometer is also far better than similar models. Competing kettles often house the thermometer display in metal topped by a clear, plastic display shield. Problematically, that's also the functional handle to remove the kettle lid. Since that metal housing conducts heat from the lid of the kettle, you need to use a towel or oven mitts to remove the lid, which is annoying. Also, this thermal conductivity of competing models' metallic thermometer housing can damage the clear, plastic display shield over time. In contrast, this model features a type of dense, pliable plastic housing--almost closer to rubber or baking grade silicon in feel--that better insulates the thermometer display as a whole such that it is cool enough to the touch to NOT need hand protection to remove the lid. Probably also over time, this minimizes heat related damage to the clear, plastic display shield. Third, this kettle is a lot lighter than competing models, suggesting that it's made out of less stainless steel that probably means a comparatively thinner base and walls. For cookery, you want a thicker, perhaps even multilayered base that more gradually and evenly heats up whatever food you're cooking on top of that saucepan or whatever across the entire area of that piece of cookery. But this kettle simply needs to heat up a volume of water, and a more sparing approach to the construction of its base and sides just means it happens faster and that the kettle is lighter when it comes to accurate pour overs. Highly recommended--five stars in all categories.

Nice tea pot
Bought it because the handle is on the side and you do not burn your hand when you pour hot water, it also has water spout on the bottom of tea pot so you can get almost all the water out without tipping it too far over, does the job well, wish it came in a larger size, no complaints.

Works well for pour-over coffee brewing!
I've used this pot to make hundreds of cups of pour-over coffee using a #2 cone filter setup. The pot works well. The thermometer is a favorite part! I have a gas stove, and I've learned that the water makes a certain sound when it get to 160-170F and that is when it is time for me to stop heating and start brewing my coffee. As for cleaning, I think this stainless steel material is kind of tough to keep clean. I don't mind it, but my gas flame (maybe) seems to impart a brown tinge to it that my dark blue ceramic tea pot doesn't get. In spite of this, I really like this kettle for pour over. The water does come out at just the right rate for a very good cup of coffee brewed exactly like how *I* want it made. My morning cup of coffee is one of my favorite things each morning and this kettle is a part of that. This kettle makes joy.

Lovely little kettle
I wanted a kettle with a thermostat and spout to use with my Chemex and this is perfect. I love having the thermometer and I can also use it for tea because different teas require different water temps. It IS very tiny. Can't remember how many ounces but I really don't think I could make more than one cup with this kettle. You can't fill it all the way to the top either because if the water starts to boil it will start spewing out of the spout if you fill it too high. Still very happy with it and so glad I got it.

Adorable kettle
It looks amazing. I'd consider it a smaller kettle. It's light when filled. The wood handle accent enhances the neatness of its look. It lives on top of my stove so I'm sure to give it a quick wipe off with a damp cloth every evening. Handle lays to the side for easy top filling. I feared the kettle might swing when pouring the hot water but it doesn't! The handle stays in place. I truly only use it daily to boil water. The whistle can be heard 2 rooms away. For me its loud enough. Out of habit I pick it up with a potholder but I did try not using it and the wood was warm but not hot. For a quick pour, you're ok. I'll probably still use a potholder though, out of habit. It looks as good if not better than its shown. Its classy. I absolutely recommend! Would make an awesome gift.
