I did a ton of research on replacement garage door seals as I tried to figure out how to replace the original seals on our garage doors, which are most likely original, meaning 25 years old. While stores like Home Depot and Lowe's do carry a couple of options I was not impressed with the feel of the material and didn't think they would last long in the south Texas heat. Quite a few reviews spoke about how the Bowsen ones were well-made of thicker rubber, so I ordered two sets, a 10-foot and a 16-foot. I am very happy with the products. The rubber is thicker than the other ones I looked at and I think it will do very well. They are flexible, yet sturdy. I installed them alone. It definitely would be easier to have a second person there to feed the seal as you pull it from the other end along the T-tracks, but for me it was not necessary. I did use the suggestion to spray both the tracks and the rubber with a dishwashing soap/water mixture to help lubricate the channels and ease installation. As it dried I would add more every foot or so as I advanced the strip along the track. This worked well for me. After I'd done one door, I knew what worked and what did not and moved faster. I am extremely happy with the results. The doors seal much better now and look good. The length was actually slightly longer than it says, probably to give you some flex for minor deviations. It was very easy to cut when I trimmed it to exact door size. Overall, I have been impressed by both the product and customer support from Bowsen. Highly recommended!

This product is outstanding and provides a great seal and with structural integrity. Let me explain. I purchase two Clopay Garage doors new and the bottom rubber seal had no structure integrity from the start, and one of them split and feel apart after 14 months. These are on a shed and only opened maybe 20 times or lesss. I called Clopay and they infirmed me they had no warranty for this rubber seal and recommended purchasing the Clopay replacement through the store I purchased the doors. After a very short research on line, this Bowsen product with the integrated round tube became the perfect replacement and the EPDM RUBBER IS SUPERIOR! The installation required removing two screws at the bottom , pulling out old seal, cleaning the tract, lubricating with some teflon based dry lube, sliding in the new seal pre cut appropriately, and finally replacing the screws through a pilot hole in the seal to prevent lateral movement. Installation was surprisingly easy. It took no more than 20 minutes for two. Clean track and correct T-size (1/4 or 5/16) is a key for flawless installation. Seal aligns well, no gaps, no water leaks.

I chose this weather strip because It was rubber over vinyl, personal preference. It is a PITA getting on. I did it with the doors off (was pressure washing and painting them) and it was still hard. I utilized a second person (explain below). When I was pulling the seal on with vice grips, the seal did rip pieces off a couple times. I wasn't too concerned as I ordered the 9' seal and it came at about 11' long, so you have room for error on the ends as you cut off excess. I don't like I ripped the seal while pulling, I hope it hold up for at least a few years. At about 20$ per door, which is about double the price of vinyl, I'm ok with it lasting 3-5 years IF it does. Not a bad value in my opinion. It sits about 1-1.5" tall and squishes down when door is closed. You may have to adjust your garage door opener on closing distances. Tips: Make sure track is completely clean of debris and not bent anywhere that could bind the rubber. If door is off or not installed, clamp down to saw horses. Use a vaseline type lubricant on the seal to slide it down the track. Lube the "T" part of seal. After your excessive pulling and fighting it, you'll get it to the other side, pull the excess evenly on both sides. Then I pulled from the middle, back to the middle on each side just to make sure there wasn't any over stretching where going from a warm season to cold, that it would shrink and be short on the ends.

Easy to install. Provides a much better seal than the original flat vinyl seal. Other people have mentioned it, I will reiterate. . . get someone to help with the install especially if you are installing for a two car garage door. Not that it is impossible to do alone but mine went much easiler with one person pulling and the other feeding. Very happy with purchase.

I struggled getting a new seal in one of my garage doors. This one went in like butter (comparatively). Is thick and sturdy. Keeps water, air drafts, and bugs out. It did looks used or open box but it worked so i didnt care. I have a drive through 1 car garage so a powered door on 1 side and a manual on the other. Once i find a new track and seal for the manual side ill be replacing that and if BOWSEN makes one ill be getting that but its 9ft long and thats a very uncommon size.

Ordered two 10 foot long of the same item. Both items came in their own individual boxes packed in one larger box for shipping. Installed the first one and it fit well. Takes two people to install, one pulling and the other pushing it along the track. Keeping the track lubed up while installing makes it easier. I took the second one out of the larger shipping box to install to the other garage door and noticed that that the items box looked like it was previously opened and resealed. Which made it look like it might have been a returned item. I looked at the item over quickly and didn’t notice any problems with it so my partner and I started installing it. It would come off of the garage door track at a certain location so we would carefully pull it off and attempt to slide it back on. After attempting this a few times we both inspected the rubber seal closer and noticed a tear in the seal where it would not slide on the track. Contemplated sending it back or try to make it work. Decided to try to make it work because the old seal had to be cut off so it wasn’t reusable. After some finagling and cussing we got it installed. The moral to the story, don’t send your customers returned damaged goods.

Awesome product. I tried a different seal on Amazon but it was impossible to fit. This one the rubber seems to be of a higher quality. I slid both sides of the seal at the same time with a bit of soapy lube. 10 minutes alone, 2 minutes with 2 people.

Very good product.. good quality. Used as substitute for original with very small t. Couldn’t install by usual method. But looks good after.

Product is great, only a 4/5 rating due to I find it abit softer then expected but still a good product. Product does the job excellent, seals and fits perfect as advertised. A bit tricky to install, I ended up putting one side in first completed then "slivered" in the second part (tee) channel with a small screwdriver. Left both ends an inch long and works great. Price is fair for the product.
