This is a terrific piece of kit, manufactured to very high standards. The main advantages of a wad punch over a hole-punch are that: (1) with the wad punch, neat discs are produced, not simply holes; and (2) wad punches tend to go up to larger sizes. Also, hitting a wad punch with a mallet is a lot easier than squeezing a rotary-type hole-punch I use it - all the time - in model-making, and wouldn't be without it. For example, on a model ship, one needs numerous discs of different sizes, and this makes them quickly and crisply, out of sheet styrene (HIPS) in my case. It would be very useful for anyone needing discs in plastic, leather, card and similar, from 5mm diameter up to 32mm. The centre punch leaves a slight dimple in the very centre of the disc, ideal for locating the disc accurately, drilling a centre hole and so on. The manufacturers state that the centre punch is common to the metric and imperial sets, so the punches can be interchanged between them. All in all, a professional and invaluable tool at a realistic price
