Koch 7640040 Roller Chain Offset Link, 4-Pack, #40

I built a minibike and no matter what I tried, the chain was either too short or a link too long. If I removed the link on the long chain, then it was too short. I Tried adjusting the engine position, which was limited. Moving the rear axle around which was limited too, nothing seemed to give me that perfect tension. I came across these offset links. They saved me from the frustration. The chain that was cut and seemed too short, I added this offset link and bingo, perfect fit. It's like adding half a link. I have run the chain with the offset link for months now with no chain issues whatsoever. Glad to find these and happy with how they function.

I was making three chains for a Tru-Cut reel mower, from one length of 10ft #40 chain. I bought regular connectors pins, then saw these afterward and thought "just in case" and picked up a pack to have on hand on the off-chance I'd need them. And boy was I glad I did! Turned out TWO of the factory chains I removed from the mower were made with a half link, so I never would have gotten the right length without having these! They also use an easy little cotter pin to lock them on, instead of the snap-on pins the full-length connector pins use which are a PITA. Highly recommended.
