LaserLyte, innovators in firearms laser technologies, proudly introduces the LT-GM, the Laser Trainer barrel for the GLOCK 19 (Gen 1 thru 4) and GLOCK 23. The Laser Trainer Barrel shoots a laser dot simulating bullet impact and providing feedback to the shooter. Now, LaserLyte provides a no-excuse, safe training aid with a sound-activated training barrel that replaces the barrel in your GLOCK. The Laser Trainer Barrel does not and will not accept ammo making it a perfectly safe anytime/anywhere training tool. An additional benefit to the Laser Trainer Barrel is as a visual reminder to other persons within the area, that the GLOCK is unloaded and in a safe-mode. A built-in snap cap also protects the firing pin from repeated dry firing. The LaserLyte Laser Trainer Barrel produces a sound-activated laser when the user pulls the trigger. The Laser Trainer Barrel allows the user to gain confidence and trigger muscle memory in the privacy of their own home. LaserLyte continues to get sport shooters and professionals on the target faster, increasing accuracy and overall hits with affordable and fun laser training tools. If only it worked all the time
I wish this was better than it is. The batteries don't make good contact so I have to loosen and tighten the "barrel" over and over until the laser will output an acceptable amount of light. Even then, after a short time it will peter out again. Also doesn't fit my Gen4 very well. Fully cycling the slide hangs it up at some point, but I just cycle it enough to reset the striker. Fits much better in my Gen3 G27.Overall, I'm not unhappy with the purchase, but I probably wouldn't recommend someone else buy it at this price point. In the $65 range, this would be a great purchase.UPDATE:I'm still using this laser, and it has gotten better with use. It doesn't fizzle out like it used to and the batteries hold out for a lot longer, though they aren't particularly easy to find. Please bear in mind that the barrel isn't knurled, it is smooth. That's not too big a deal, as the barrel is still grippable even if you get some excess lube on it.So, I'm bumping it up one star, with my only complaint being the cost.2017 Update:Mine has now completely failed. The threads are too fine and eventually will gall, and the light no longer triggers properly. Reduced it a star, but still bought another; it's still a fairly unique product.

See update 5 *'s down to 2 *'s then up to 3 *'s
This thing is on the money. Perfectly aligned with my Glock 19 sights. Not as sensitive as it seems previous earlier models were. I know some guys that have the Dryfiremag, as do I. They have no problem activating the barrel laser (it's sound activated) with the click given off by this dry fire device. That wouldn't work for me but it works every time I actually pull the trigger. Why is this better? Because it does not just go off at every light touch and cause the battery to drain as some even here have stated. I use this solely for practicing out of concealed carry position to firing at the target while timed. I don't rack the slide to reset the trigger to keep shooting without holstering first (that just builds bad muscle memory) I rack the slide, holster and start over. Great training tool.UPDATE 1: It is now beginning to not operate properly. Now, every 1 to 2 shots out of 5 it either does not work or the laser is very faint. I have replace the batteries 3 times (in less than an hour), tested the batteries with a multimeter (all show good/proper voltage) and get the same results. So, for now 5 stars down to 2 stars. I will update again once I hear from LaserLyte (sent an email).UPDATE 2: Okay so the Company contacted me quickly and was more than willing to replace/repair it! Which it great! So, because of such a good response from LaserLyte I know upgrade my review to 3 stars. Unfortunately, because I was still inside the return window for Amazon and had trouble with the LaserLyte 9mm cartridge also I decided to get the refund and shop for another brand of laser training device. But for anyone willing to send it back the company is good to go and offers a 3 year warranty.

More like a 1/4 star
If I could give this less than 1 star I would. After reading reviews, I thought this was the best option to improve my dry fire practice. I ordered it, along with reaction tyme targets. I got less than a couple hundred dry fires from the first set of batteries, about 30 minutes maybe. The second set got less than 15 minutes. I ordered more batteries online, and got 5 minutes out of them.I then called LaserLyte and talked with them. They said that I should send it back. Which I did. I received it back in a timely manner, and went out to shoot it in the garage. 15 Minutes on the first set of batteries, installed by them, shipped back with an isolator. The isolater, by the way, is recommended for storage according to customer service. For three batteries to get less than 15 minutes is unacceptable. I am going to send it back again. Maybe others have had better luck, but so far this is an utter disappointment.

Shame on you laser lyte for such a poor product 2 days of light use and product is dead, even bought new batteries and product still is dead. Shame on me for not reading reviews which I normally do.and finally shame on you Sportsman Supply Inc for pedaling such a horribly inferior products, I will never buy from either of these companys if this is how they operate. Let's find out how difficult a return will be. If there is any hope of that.

Good application, loved the idea
Good application, loved the idea, however the batteries died WAY too soon! I followed the manufacture instructions for disassembling the device to keep the batteries from draining, and only after 1 night of practice, the batteries were found dead next week. Finding a way to prevent this drain would make this an EXCEPTIONAL product, instead of the current, ok product.

Installation Problems and Batteries DOA
It took a while before I could install this Trainer Barrel (LT-GM) on my Glock 19 Gen 4. In their YouTube videos, the installation looked very simple and easy. But in my case, the slide wouldn't go in all the way with the trainer in place. I called LaserLyte about that and also emailed them pictures to show what I thought was causing the problem. After they assured me that the differences between the Glock 19 barrel and the LT-GM were just cosmetic, I tried installing it again. I forcibly pulled the slide into place and it worked. When I took the LT-GM out, it was pretty scratched up, which goes to show there is a design flaw somewhere. This could either be a quality assurance problem or they really need to refine the design to fit the Glock better.I'm giving it 3 stars because of this problem and also because the batteries that came installed with the unit were dead. I had to use the spare ones which fortunately came with it too.
