Great value, easy to assemble
Excellent value, made the prospect of building the base for shed so much easier. Found it easy to assemble, but did struggle with some clips, but nothing you couldn’t sort. Is the base for a metal shed, we filled with grit to support and am very pleased with it overall. Well worth the money, looks good, very sturdy and supportive, instructions easy.

Needs modification if using on a hard sub base.
I've previously bought the square Eco Deck, which has lugs and slots on each side of the square to slot together with. Each square was 50cm wide so installation was easy to work out.The rectangle grids needed some size adjustment but this was easily done in a few seconds with an electric jigsaw, so no marks lost for that! These rectangle grids have clips that are separate and part of which are supposed to be buried in the ground, by putting a hole in the membrane. With two clips per side, that's a lot of holes in the membrane!!!I opted to put in a hard sub base, by putting down the membrane, putting a thin bedding layer of sharp sand on top, followed by some old paving slabs and filling gaps with Type 1 granular sub base. Due to this additional build up, I dug down so the shed floor will still be at ground level once installed. This means that the clips cannot be buried and so either a hacksaw or a electric jigsaw (with a clamp to hole the clip with for safety), the bottom part of the joining clip needs to be cut off. The clips can also be brittle upon installation so because of the clips, the product drops a star.I filled the grids with Tarmac brand 10mm gravel from Wickes - a 2.4m by 2.4m base (pictured) takes 13 bags - add in at least a couple of additional bags if the ground under the grids is not levelled. There was not enough membrane included to cover a 14x8 base and keep a decent overlap - I used most of it for a 8x8 base. That said, membrane is cheap so more could have been included but its not expensive to buy extra from Wickes. With the additional ground work that I did, the installation will take a day to do it on your own and various trips to Wickes for more bags of aggregate.

Makes a very strong base for shed r
Ok. We used strong plastic ties to help clips secure the base grid ,put shingle in the holes of base grid to weight the grid as suggested A damp sheet was included , place under the grid before shingle is added ,makes building much easier , well worth the extra money

Does the job perfectly
A lot cheaper than some similar kits out there and does exactly what it's supposed to. Hardest part is actually getting the ground level first - 5cm of road base material whacked down then 2cm of sharp sand rolled provided the base required. Elected to use 10mm cable ties (screwfix) to join the sections rather than the clips that came with the kit. Note the membrane is not one rectangular sheet, but a long length that needs cut and overlapped. When filling, definitely use pea gravel, but note it takes a lot to fill the gaps. Happy with the end result.

It wasn't a perfect job in our case but so far seems to ...
Cheaper than purchasing slabs but you need to factor in the cost of gravel to fill in the honeycomb which took the price up quite a bit. Can be fiddly trying to level against each other unless you are able to achieve a dead level ground to place the grids on. The soil is clay in our area which hadn't previously been dug and trying to level was a real pain but we just used packing underneath some of the grids to achieve as flat a surface as possible to fit the shed. It wasn't a perfect job in our case but so far seems to be holding the shed quite well.

Sent the wrong grids - probably
The product seems strong and fine , and this review would have been a 5* , if it wasn't for the fact I informed the seller it was being laid on concrete , and the seller said that was ok , and that the grids interlock together with male and female connection .The grids I received have no interlocking , but came with clips - unsuitable for use on concrete , and probably meant if using the grids on a garden

Great value
Some reviews note the issues with getting level ground to install this onto but that’s the key issue for any base you want to lay and there’s not really any quick solution for that and it’s not a product related problem. The product itself once a reasonable levelled area was created was easy to layout and put together. We sprayed weed killer before putting the membrane that was supplied down and chose to use cable ties over the supplied clips. Reason being we didn’t want to puncture the membrane or spend time cutting each of the clips (as was suggested by the instructions). Bought to create a patio area on a sloping garden that could cope with an instant 8foot diameter adult pool. Very pleased with the product and cost effectiveness. Ordered a bulk bag of 20mm gravel from B&Q (£38) which amply filled both this 8x9 and a 6x5 base for a shed.
