I was very excited to order this book, however it came extremely damage - cover ripped and repaired with tape. Looks like it came from a dollar bin - not good condition as listed

This book is a heartfelt, concise yet articulate tribute that will help you better understand the humans behind the oeuvre, which is an aspect that many tend to ignore while trying to understand creative minds. Never the work and the people are two separate things; it is the influences, mindset, worldview, the moving forces of one's own time and the continuos exchange with others that in the end inform the creative energy that is behind the work. This book will give you more than a taste of such issues and the role they played in the enormous success that this couple won and deserved. A must have for any Vignelli enthusiast.

Jan Conradi's book gives a detailed look into the lives and of these two masters that not only highlights their achievements in design but also describes the genuineness in Lella and Massimo's sincerity as human beings. As a "Vignelli Groupie" I was please to read previously unknown stories, facts and fun tidbits about the couple and see photographs that I have never seen before. This book is a wonderful addition to the Vignelli lineage and MUST be added on your bookshelf.
