Good product
I’ve used this product to make buttermilk bread in a bread machine for over ten years. It’s also good for other recipes. And you can use it when you want to soak chicken in buttermilk before cooking. The container I received yesterday smelled strongly of chemicals from being shipped with non-food items which reeked of chemicals. It’s likely that the chemicals off-gassed during shipping and transferred to my food items in the same box. I might have to throw this container away because it’s cardboard and it can’t be washed thoroughly to get the chemical odor off. But I will continue to purchase and use this product because it’s so handy. And it can be stored for awhile in the fridge. It’s cheaper than having to buy fresh buttermilk on a regular basis.

Much more convenient than liquid because there is no waste.
I usually buy liquid buttermilk and the usually end up throwing part of it out.

Good for long term storage of buttermilk, just mix well.
Many of my bread recipes call for buttermilk, but it's not my choice of casual drink. I tried this powder and tasted it after mixing it in water; it's pretty good. I've found that warming the water and using a corded hand held mixer gives the best results, though one would argue that it might not make much difference in the dough. My breads, with this in them, taste better and have a softer, firmer texture. For some reason, not available locally. I might try them in doughnuts.

I like this brand..
Nice to have on hand when I don't have the liquid kind. I really like this brand. Expiration date is way ahead in time too. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars is because it could have been packed nicely and it came damaged. Quick Shipping though.

Great for empty-nesters
This product makes great pancakes. We used to be able to pick this up at the Whole Foods grocery store where we shop but found this product on line at Amazon. If you like buttermilk pancakes, this is a great product as you do not have to buy actual buttermilk which is way too much leftover unless you eat pancakes every day. We have been using this product for several years & love the pancakes it makes for the 2 of us. Great to have on hand if there are only 2 of you to make breakfast for & we highly recommend it. Great for us empty-nesters. You do need to refrigerate it after opening & using the product for the first time.

An essential kitchen supply
I'm never without this stuff. I use it in biscuits, of course, but it's also handy when a recipe calls for buttermilk. Who has fresh buttermilk laying around? What? You're going to buy a quart when you need two tablespoons, and let the rest rot in your fridge? With this product, one can mix up even small amounts of buttermilk as needed, and there's no waste. Just FYI, my primary use for it, is that I brine almost all meat—chicken, port, even beef—in buttermilk brine. What a difference it makes to any and every meat! Full marks.

Great product
I like using this product when making salad dressings and marinating chicken. It's easy to use although I have to refer to the website for exact instructions on smaller quantities such as one tablespoon or one-quarter cup. I keep it in the fridge and it keeps well. Recommended.

My dad said he grew up on fresh made buttermilk biscuits every morning ...
My grandmother was a morning person, she had to get up early because she owned/operated a hair salon. She made breakfast every morning for her family before shipping her boy off to school. That boy was my dad, he is the youngest of 11 (and he's going to be 83 in April). I ordered this for a bread recipe that called for buttermilk powder. Woooo, this is some powerful stuff. My father said to me when I put the bread out that Sunday late afternoon, I didn't know you liked buttermilk. I said, dad I don't, but I used this buttermilk powder that's really strong for this bread recipe. My dad liked the bread (as did everyone else at the table) and he asked me to whip him up a batch of buttermilk biscuits to take home that night. After dinner that Sunday (we eat dinner at 3p most Sundays), I made dad's batch of buttermilk biscuits. He has nudged me every other Sunday for buttermilk biscuits and I love it! I especially love the part where he says, "these taste like my mom's used to make!" He's very pleased and so am I (I make the biscuits in advance now ;o)
