Do i need a usb key with this board

Not if you use K40 Whisper, the key is if you use Corel.

Does this board offer true laser power control like mini gerbal or is it just on or off like m2 nano?

Actually the answer is Yes. The M3-Nano sports 2 main improvements the first is a multiplexing multibutton in the upper left, this performs a hardware pause when you hit the button but software can detect this and likely perform other actions. The second is the upper left actually is PWM power control. The strong caveat is since there's no Chinese software and the reverse engineers never managed to guess what commands change that, its currently unusable until new Chinese software comes out or the engineers behind K40Whisperer or MeerK40t figure out how to invoke the PWM. But, it absolutely does have hardware support for PWM.

Will my dongle work with it?

Likely not, dongles are keyed to the boards. Switch to K40 Whisper for software, or use Mini Gerbil and buy Lightburn.

The software is not included, this board is meant to be used with a propitiatory version of Corel that ships with some lasers. K40 Whisper software will work with this board.
