Stinky shrimp ball floats and potentially sinks. My turtle does not care but attacks the object, drags it into the underwater cave and devours it. Messy yes, worth the turtle joy, also a yes.

My girls LOVE these! I honestly have never seen them so excited about anything! It does dirty up the water, but their excitement makes it worth it.

Immediately sinks to the bottom. If my RES "Godzilla" is not looking when you drop, you have to go in and retrieve it for her. She did eat it right up when she found it. They break apart fast in crumbs when she bites in and the water goes brown around it. I'll let her finish this treat bag as she seems to like the taste, but I wouldn't buy again as I was hoping she would be able bite and have it float away.

I ordered this because I was afraid my girl was very bored and unmotivated. I wanted something that she would chase around her tank. Unfortunately it's a big pebble and once grabs it up she pretty much has it. There really is no chasing it around the tank like I thought. I seems like she likes it but because the pebbles are bigger than the food I normally gives her, it encourages her to try to eat the large rocks that I use for substrate. Not a fan of that. Didn't notice a bad smell other in the package (no smell after she eats it). I don't mind the clean up, I just want her to have an activity therefore it doesn't really do that. ==== EDIT: My RES LOVES these! I don't think they are much for her activity but I'm convinced she is decidedly less impressed with her other food as she is with the possibility of getting another one of these. Over time (a week or two) they don't seem to float as much, but since I have large rock substrate she winds up searching the substrate for another one, which I guess, does give her the activity. I hope they are healthy because I give her one almost every day.

When I opened the zippered bag I started gagging. These smell horrific! I have other shrimp flavored turtle treats and of course they have an odor, but nothing like this. When I put a treat in the turtle tank and one of the turtles went to take a bite, it went into 10,000 pieces and made a huge mess in the tank. It was like I poured a handful of sand in the tank, from one turtle treat. The water was crystal clear prior to this and the pic above shows how murky it is now. I will need to clean out the tank from one treat! I am initiating a return now. The return label is larger than a legal sheet of paper, but the package they came in is the size of a gallon baggie. Now I have to wait up to 3 days for them to send me a smaller return label so I can return them. I couldn't shrink the label size myself. We'll see how good their customer service is. I gave one star only because I couldn't give zero stars.

These are a bit expensive but the turtle loves them

I highly recommend these. Our softshell turtle loves these!! He is super active and we wanted something he could play with and enjoy. This did the trick!!

My terrapins loved these but makes the tank dirty so time these treats before a clean

Not worth it, it made such a total mess of the tank, I ended up binning the packet.
