Delta Faucet RP61 Cam Assembly for lever, Iron

I am embarrassed at how long it took me to figure this out... We moved into a "new to us" house 6 years ago. Our kitchen faucet was leaking a little at the time and we paid to have it fixed. Six months later and it was leaking again. Until this week. I finally had enough and figured out what parts I needed. Took the thing apart and realized that the cam was not OEM. Usually I'm not a stickler for that, but this is a Brizo faucet (high end made by Delta) and an older, discontinued model that I loved and wanted to keep. Turns out, using a knock off was the problem (white knock off and grey OEM in pics). You may not be able to tell in the pics, but the top of the cam looks the same and the bottom is totally different!! The faucet works great now with no leaking at all!! Besides the set screw being a little stuck because of the mineral deposits...it was super easy to fix!

It works well though it has smaller contact area with the ball valve. It seems the part’s design has been optimized to simplify the manufacturing, improving reliability and perhaps the cost saving too. At first glance it appears to be completely different from the original one so I was hesitating to order it. They should add one more picture to show the seal side of it, not just the face side which you can’t tell how the seal looks like.

This is the perfect improved replacement for the made-in-USA vintage Delta 100 / 200 / 400 series kitchen faucets. The original 2-piece seal required adjustment via the adjusting ring in the faucet cap, it's difficult to get it just right, I always ended up with a leak immediately or a few days later. This improved style is 1 piece, designed like an automotive oil seal with a built-in tension spring and requires no adjustment, you throw away the old adjuster ring. And the handle operates more smoothly. No more leaks! (it's best to also replace the ball lever and other o-rings & seals too for long-lasting results)

This is an upgraded part. If you are replacing the older part, the adjusting ring in the housing that screws down over this part must be removed. It is not used. For me, this was a big improvement. The faucet operation is much easier and smoother.

This was just what we needed to repair the kitchen faucet. No problems with it.

After having no luck finding the parts I needed for my least expensive faucet from hardware chain, I tried Amazon instead. I wasn't sure of model but the rubber O rings and springs fit my faucet though the other parts did not. If you have a leaky faucet it's likely the same O rings and springs are used on many of the same models.

This is a genuine Delta replacement part. It works perfectly for my Delta kitchen faucet repair. It has a circular spring gasket and fits properly inside the cam assembly. Third party suppliers and those found in Home Depot do not have the same tight fit and will leak. Buy this one if you have to replace the cam assembly.

Delta faucet was leaking under the handle. Took it apart and could see the cam assembly was worn out. This replacement worked great. Fixed in 5 minutes. Like new.
