It's good for SPS and LPS and clams too!!!
So it says for purple stuff on rocks.. Well guess what. You can use it to does for LPS and SPS! I do it by the cap.My birds nest loves it! my candy cane loves it! My clam loves it! I dose it daily and never worry about overdosing because of the stock in my tank. 4 hours and the cloud is gone! I know people who just use this, by hooking it up to a single auto doser then sit back and watch stuff grow! The bottle hold calcium magnesium and iodine! No deaths, no issues! Follow the directions!! I strongly encourage people to test the water before dosing more than the recommended amount! **If you cap dose do it while the lights are on and coral are active to get the most out of it!!!****

CaribSea Purple Up
Okay this product had mixed reviews but I really wanted the purple rocks sooo gave it a try. I have used it over two months and its very slow to happen. I just now have purple growing but it also grows on the tank glass where I want it clean to see my fish... didn't know that. I will cont to use this product until I finish it I use it at night before I turn the lights off only because it really clouds up the water and hate to see that during the day by the time the lights come on in the morn its crystal clear again. The fish, corals and starfish etc don't see to mind it although they hide when the cloud comes through... I wish it worked faster with less product but no such luck I will however cont to use this product because I like the purple look.. the price was fair and shipping out was fairly fast.

It is really good I will be getting more
Noticed a big difference using this but it's easy to put your calcium in the aquarium so I do like using the product I just don't know that it makes Coraline algae grow any faster

PU is ok. Tropic Marin Biocalcium is the best.
I used two bottles of purple up over a 18 month period. I'm not sure if it accelerated coraline algae or not. I did notice some coraline but not much. I then educated myself and broke down and started testing CA Alk and magnesium. Once correcting these parameters I did notice accelerated coraline algae growth. Only after testing for CA Alk Mg did I have success with this product. I gave this 3 stars because I switched to Tropic Marin Biocalcium, on a recommendation, and my coraline algae exploded. I now have to scrape it off the front and sides of my tank. If I could give tropic marin Biocalcium 7 stars I would.

Follow directions, be patient, it works!
The only way to make sure this product works is by using its entire bottle as intended and be patient! Can’t expect coraline algae growth after a week!

Some people say it grows the different types of algae that Reef keepers desire and others say it doesn't work. It does raise the calcium and alkalinity which are the two benefactors in how that corline algae grows. If you do have any speckles of purple on your rocks or glass the stuff definitely will accelerate the growth and also keep your SPS happy. Now the negative side! Amazon Amazon, what the hell is wrong with you people jamming products into a paper bubble envelope and expect it to survive? The bottle was as should be placed in the sealed plastic bag to protect against leakage. When I opened up the plastic baggie there was condensation inside and the label on the bottle was starting to wrinkle up. And on the back side where the directions are some of that label is missing. Thankfully I've used the stuff before and know the dosing requirements but for a first-timer using this stuff they would need to get on to the internet and find out exactly how much the dose your tank.

Well I'm still waiting for it to work in my aquarium , waiting for the signs of the purple algae to show on the rocks. Looking forward to the out come I keep adding a dose each week so hopefully it will work

I initially bought this product to accelerate the growth of coralline algae. Its a new aquarium and I am yet to see the direct results of this growth, however I have been dosing with this regularly and have seen significant growth to my branching hammer coral who has sprouted new heads. It has kept my calcium levels consistent and my nano reef tank is thriving.
