Really hard to remove but functional
As an adult male I can remove this cap, but just barely. I would not want my wife to have to mess with it. I have to carefully just click it on once and not let it get too tight.

Twist, click, enjoy.
What is there to say about a fuel tank. Firstly lets say this. The original cap this replaced on a 2007 VW Jetta GLI had performed its duties without fail or question. Twist. Uncap. Dangle from the umbilical-cord-like tether. Repeat for 7 years. Then the light came on. Taunting me with its amber hue. Telling me of 'problems' with my trusted fuel cap. Tattling that the cap and me weren't as snug as we once were. That pressure wasn't being held back. There were problems. So, I replaced the cap with this Gates cap. The Gates cap was a pedestrian purchase made in rough times by men with thick jaws and uncaring attitudes. I ordered, removed the original cap and screwed in the Gates unit. It fit. It worked. Life had returned to a simpler time.Until the light came on.. again. I was stumped. I removed the cap, cleaned the filler-neck and cursed the sky. The light went away. For now I feel. I do not blame the Gates 31613 Fuel Tank Cap. It is a well-made unit from a company generally noted to make well-made products. I suspect the original cap was not at fault either because I am blighted by a stinging German tyranny from engine controls designed and implemented by khaki wearing people who walked to work in long single-file lines. The Jetta is not to be trusted in this, I'm afraid.I did keep the original cap -- I have difficulty letting things go. You should buy this fuel cap if it indeed fits your auto. Check that first before purchasing. Be kind to the less fortunate.

Fits as advertised
Although fits as advertised, must snug down over time or else will trigger check engine light, but must have with skyrocketing gas prices. Theft on the rise and liberal states like California never punish criminals, just reward them, and them therapy.

Fixed Fuel System Error on Dash
After 16 years of owning our Audi A3 we were getting a fuel system error displayed on the dashboard in the form of a gas pump symbol. The dealer would have been happy to charge a few hundred dollars to fix the problem but replacing the fuel tank cap was quick, cheap, and most important--solved the problem.

Read this for use on Audi!
Cap appears to seal properly on a 2004 Audi A4, but the car knows that it isn't a factory cap. There must be a sensor or something in the Audi cap. This afternarket cap will set off a flashing, red gas cap indicator light on the dash.To get around this, I swapped the new caps rubber seal onto the Audi cap. So far, so good.

Easy Install
What can I say, it's a cheap replacement for a failed factory cap. If it lasts 14 years like the original, the car won't last long.
