Levi's Men's 502 Taper Jeans

Real nice fitting pair of jeans. Order the 512’s originally but were a little too slim, almost skinny, for my outfit. These just do the job perfectly roomy at the top but still slim and stylish. Great for smart/casual wear.

Great jeans, but beware that Levi appears to have poor quality control and sizing might be inconsistent across multiple pairs of the same size and style of jeans. I brought 32w/30l 502 tapered nightshine jeans in Sept, and later brought two more pairs of the exact same jeans in nov. I didn’t bother trying on as I knew they would fit…except it turns out they didn’t. I took the tags off, put the jeans on and went out for the evening, only to find that the jeans were ill fitting - I looked down when I got out the car and realised they were bunching at the ankles/shins in a way that the earlier ‘same pair’ didn’t, bunching around the crotch and falling down - really feeling like I needed a belt, which I didn’t for the earlier pair. From the clothing label, the only difference I could see is that the first pair, the ones that fit, were made in Pakistan, while the two newer pairs were made in Bulgaria. I’ve contacted Amazon to ask for a refund. See photo with the bad fitting jeans on the bottom, the good ones on the top - you can clearly see the difference.

First up, I have a couple of pair of these and like the style, they’re slim without being skinny, have a bit of stretch to the material, are very comfortable and seem to last well. They’re not a rugged heavy duty old fashioned denim, but do last well. However, considering they’re a premium brand the sizing can be a bit all over the place. I have two pairs which are 32/34l and fit perfectly. I recently purchased a pair in 33/34l to account for a little middle age spread, but they were so tight I was worried about damaging them trying to do them up. If my 32s are a nice snug fit, the 33s must have been more like a 30. So now I have to return them and will try a 34/34l, although I’m not confident they will fit well either. It’s part of the risk of ordering clothes online, but thought I was fairly safe buying a decent brand which I have worn for years. My other pairs I would have rated 5/5, so but if a shame the latest pair didn’t work out.
