Crown Automotive-A692N Spindle Nut Socket Driveline and Axles

My 4runner needs this 54mm big fat socket to do the front wheel bearings. This size is like 2 & 1/8" or whatever the standard version is. It ALMOST does NOT fit. I had to hit it up with a hand-file, dremel since it was like nearly exactly perfectly the size of the NUTS on the spindle on the 4runner. The tool was fairly priced. I had to use an adapter, I think it's like 3/4" or 1/2" - whatever it was it did not fit the torque wrench I own. Not a big to-do. If you have a 4runner and need the socket, this actually works to do the job. Stamped steel, not some finely finished product. I'm happy.

It fit the nuts on my front axle and made removing and installing the bearings easy.

I had to massage the face of each land, with a square file, in the middle to get it to fit. It was tight at first but then I accidentally got grease on it slid perfectly on. It is indeed a thick walled well constructed item. I’m glad I took the chance and bought the item. Just 5 mins of elbow grease and it is a well functioning socket. Used to torque the spindle nut on my 1992 Toyota pickup 4x4 v6. Definitely worth it.

Been working on jeep hubs for 50 years. Should have had one of these decades ago! Well constructed. Heavy duty with 1/2” drive ratchet capability.

It is a bit smaller than 54mm. Like others, I have used a Dremel tool to make a 54mm nut to fit. It took me about 5 minutes. 6 corners don't need to be touched. I guess that its price justifies the mod.

Great solution to save some coin on this if you're needing to service your land cruiser axles! You'll need about 15 minutes worth of filing the inside down a bit. Otherwise I've done 4 trucks with it.

It does fit the LX470, although a little bit tight. Must have for brake, bearing, axle work.
