AVM FRITZ!Box 7530 WLAN AC+N Router (DSL/VDSL, 866 Mbps (5GHz) & 400 Mbps (2.4 GHz), up to 300 Mbps with VDSL Supervectoring 35b, WLAN Mesh, DECT Base, Media Server, Suitable for Germany)

I was provided this by Zen Internet. Despite an unassuming look, this is a remarkably capable router. We’ve been using it for quite a while now and never had any problems with it. We used its WiFi (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) until recently, but have now disabled that as we now use a mesh from another company. We also have wired ethernet devices. I’ve recently inserted a 4G LTE USB dongle into the USB port and configured it to provide automatic failover to 4G LTE if there is any problem with the ADSL. I got a configuration value wrong initially, and the only downsides I have seen so far with this router are the lack of useful diagnostics for techie users and the slow & ineffective support from the manufacturer (AVM) in trying to work out what was wrong. Thankfully, I identified the problem as the support guy really didn’t seem to add anything useful, just costing my time getting me to repeat the same steps over again. We are upgrading to FTTP shortly (just waiting for OpenReach to do the very last bit) and the phone service will be switching from analogue to digital. Thankfully, this router can work with DECT phones, and the related FRITZ! Fon app allows mobile phones to be used as handsets for a digital “landline” number, so hopefully we won’t need to buy anything more when the switch happens.All in all, a good piece of kit, with underwhelming customer support. Thankfully, it should be unusual to need to use the support.

I was provided with this router by Zen Internet after my previous one finally shuffled off its mortal coil.Very easy to set up and it's range is excellent, allowing internet access throughout my home (and garden) on multiple devices with little or no speed issues.I use it only for personal use by myself and my family, i.e casual browsing, downloading/streaming music and videos, Netflix, Amazon Prime and catch-up TV so I can't comment on other features that I do not use namely mesh, telephony etc. however for my purposes is it faultless.

I got this sent to me by Zen Internet after my old router gave up on me.It took about 10 minutes to setup, very easy interface with some advanced settings.It was fairly trivial to set my home network to the range I had before, plus set the wifi access point names likewise.By far the best aspect, is the wiFi range. In my summerhouse, which is about 10 metres from my house, the old modem router struggled to reach, so I added an additional router wired to ethernet - I don't need that anymore.I'm getting practically the same speed outside the house on wiFi, as I do inside the house on ethernet.Well worth buying.

Unfortunately, some of the reviews tagged ‘Suitable for Germany’ are for the International or an ISP version. Those are quite different. The ‘suitable for Germany’ version (geeignet für Deutschland) has:-1) A European style plug; you will need an adapter or a suitable alternative powers supply unit.2) A modem cable for German style phone sockets to RJ45.3) Firmware that is in the German language only and with options only for Germany.The first two issues can be dealt with by an adapter or a suitable alternative powers supply unit, and a suitable adapter or modem cable (RJ11 - RJ45). The last issue is more complex. More recent firmware (version 07.2x) has the ability to set the language and region. However, attempting this, without either a good knowledge of German or FRITZ!Box units, is not recommended. Even with more recent firmware (07.21), there is no language and region customisation, until after one has dealt with the initial set up in German. It is understood that AVM may be moving to producing a single version; however, as of October 2020 that has does not appear to have happened. Until that happens the International or UK version would be the recommended option.Wi-Fi modems and routers area bit tricky to rate. Basically, I would go along with the technical reviews that it a reasonable specification product with a good range of features at a reasonable price. Some of the plus points are:- You don’t need an account with AVM to use the product; some makes require you open an account- You can open the interface from either a computer or smart phone/tablet; some makes will not support a computer- It has internal antennae; external antennae may offer little real net advantage inside a home- It can be wall mounted- It has mesh capability, although it is a proprietary AVM system- Security features are well considered and router security appears to be apriorityIt is not a perfect device and is let down a bit by the firmware. However, in the fast-moving, very competitive market, that is probably true of most, if not all such devices.

Außerdem hat sie vier Gigabit-LAN-Anschlüsse, einen USB-Anschluss, eine DECT-Basis für bis zu sechs Schnurlostelefone und einen analogen Telefonanschluss. Die FRITZ!Box 7530 ist also ein echter Alleskönner für das Heimnetz.Ich habe die FRITZ!Box 7530 an meinem VDSL-Anschluss mit Supervectoring angeschlossen und war begeistert von der einfachen Einrichtung. Die Benutzeroberfläche ist sehr übersichtlich und intuitiv zu bedienen. Ich konnte alle Einstellungen nach meinen Wünschen anpassen und meine vorhandenen Telefone und Smart-Home-Geräte problemlos integrieren. Ich erreiche mit der FRITZ!Box 7530 die volle Bandbreite meines Anschlusses und habe keine Abbrüche oder Störungen. Das WLAN ist ebenfalls sehr stabil und schnell. Ich kann im ganzen Haus problemlos surfen, streamen und online spielen. Premetto che non è il primo Fritz che possiedo, questo lo uso come access point in Mesh al mio router sempre Fritz.Questa è la versione tedesca, infatti l'interfaccia inizialmente è completamente in tedesco, ma dopo averlo collegato direttamente ad internet, impostato con qualche difficoltà i parametri con l'interfaccia tedesca ho verificato che funziona correttamente con una FTTC, fatto l'aggiornamento del software all'ultima versione e impostato il router in mesh, come access point. Dopo l'aggiornamento si può anche cambiare la lingua dell'interfaccia.Funziona perfettamente come ci si aspetta da un prodotto Fritz, poi preso con lo sconto del 30% sull'usato è un affare a 60€, la metà di uno nuovo. Arrivato imballato e perfetto.Consigliata la versione tedesca solo a chi ci sa mettere le mani e non ha problemi a perdere un pò di tempo con il tedesco inizialmente, meglio se avete un altro Fritz da usare come guida, per chi ha poca dimestichezza meglio prendere la versione italiana che ha già i parametri per i principali operatori, e con l'italiano è più facile da impostare.Il prodotto è comunque validissimo, per me non esistono altri prodotti oltre a Fritz come router/access point uso casalingo, sono sempre al top come stabilità e velocità
