OMIX Rugged Ridge 11603.09 Fender Flare Hardware Kit

The washers provided are too small to hold the flare tight against the fender. Picked up fender washers at local hardware shop to correct this!

These were used to reinstall rear (only) factory flares on a 1997 Wrangler TJ. At first I hesitated to buy this kit because the price seems a bit steep for some plastic and nuts and bolts. After looking around to piece together my own kit it became clear that the cost of this kit was much cheaper than buying piecemeal and all I needed was the hardware for the rear flares (basically just under half of the kit). Everything I needed was included, Amazon got it to me super fast and my install was clean and just as much quality as OEM parts that had lasted 24 years. Overall very happy with item and purchase cost after comparing with local hardware and big box stores.

Not a bad kit for my '05 Jeep TJ - the Hex shaped nut inserts work pretty good. I installed them with just a bolt and a nut to draw the insert tight to the sheet steel. The washers that are supplied with the kit are not at all big enough - I purchased some small fender washers to replace them. The little plastic blocks that go on the inside of the fenders are pretty much identical to stock. The screws that go in them I think were selected for the kit by an intern somewhere - I think they are bronze colored wood screws from Home Depot. The quantity of components in the kit will not replace all fasteners on a Jeep TJ - You'll need to buy two kits for that and you will have some parts left over. Seems like a lot of money, but you can't hardly find this stuff anywhere.

Worked well for our 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ, a little tough to install but once they are in they look great!

Product is ok instead of piecing together your own kit. The rivnuts are cheaply made. I ended up replacing as many as I could with stainless bolt/nut assembly. I did need two rivnuts that were not accessible to be changed out. All of the washers are too small. I ended up using them out of convenience, but they needed the next size to be right. The screws are basically wood screws with replacement plastic backings. Make sure to use antiseize on everything. If your Jeep is like mine and everyone else’s, most of the original hardware is seized up. If you don’t need rivnuts and most of your original backings are decent. You probably don’t need this kit. It’s expensive for what it is and you can piece it together at the hardware store.
