Ordered wrong size. Returned by very easy Amazon new system. Please be aware of exact model number of your headphones. The quality of the original covers was not good after failure after less than two years.Dissapponting from Sony.Now trying again !

I bought these earpads to fix up some MDR-RF985R's that i inherited from a person who used them a lot (and left them kind of gross). From what i can tell from what's left of the original earpads, the fabric on these new ones is similar in both look and feel; i like the fact that it's soft against my skin, and i never feel like it's sticking to me, as one might anticipate with any pleather-like material. I selected this model primarily because of the piece of fabric that covers the "hole" in the center of the pad; as mentioned above, the headphones were a little gross when i got them, and i was grateful to have a barrier -- even a thin one -- between me and that piece of foam that's glued to the speaker area and therefore can't be cleaned well without damaging the electronics. I found the difficulty level of putting the pads onto the headphones to be "just right:" if it's too easy to put them on, then you need to worry about it being too easy for them to fall off. I have no such worries.I had a brief exchange with the seller (over a matter too complicated and insufficiently universal to explain) and was very pleased with the way in which the issue was handled.

These fit well and are soft on the ears. Getting harder to find at a good price. They do wear out, it is true, so buy extra if the price is right.
