I thought it sounded like a good idea but I didn’t have any dogs at the time. Not too long after we got a small boy rescue pup. He was already housebroken. I ran across the pee pad on Amazon and bout the smaller travel pack. Stubby didn’t pay any attention to them. Fast forward several years and he is now an older dog with heart problems and needs to go out every couple of hours. In the early morning hours when we were both in deep sleep and didn’t hear him up he decided it would be ok to pee in one spot in the house. Got out the hydrant pee pads and they now work like a charm. He doesn’t use them every day but when he needs to go out and we don’t wake up he goes on the pad. They work just like they were intended to. Don’t know if it would be a helpful for a female dog but for the boy that lifts a leg they are great. They are large and thick so they catch all of the extra nighttime liquid.
