Review: Awesome vanilla beans! - This is my third time purchasing these vanilla beans and I have not been disappointed. They are great quality and they taste amazing! I use them to make my own vanilla extract and have gifted many bottles and always get rave reviews. The price for them is great and they last. They were vacuumed sealed upon arrival and the size and quantity received was exactly as described.
Review: Much Better Than Tahitian Beans for Making Vanilla Extract - I tried Tahitian beans to make vanilla extract using various spirits: Rum, Bourbon, Vodka, and Vodka plus grain alcohol. I did a similar test with these beans from Madagascar (i.e., Malagasy beans). I let the mixtures age for eight months. The results, in all cases, were that these Malagasy beans were far superior in color, aroma, and taste; hence, the reason I gave these Malagasy beans five stars. So, if you are buying vanilla beans for making your own vanilla extract, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Tahitian beans. Next, for spirits, the best one (so far) is bourbon. It generates a great color, great aroma, and great flavor. I've tried both Evans Black and Evans Bonded with these Malagasy beans (some Grade B, some Grade A), and they produce excellent vanilla extract. Remember, you have to let them age for at least 30 days, and I would say a minimum of 90 days. I have one bottle that I've been aging since Sep 1, 2020, and it is awesome! In short, I pretty much go for the Grade A Malagasy beans and put about six of these in an 8.5-ounce, square-glass, sealable bottle and fill it with Evans Black or Evans Bonded. Then just let them age! I hope the above helps. If you've done some experiments yourself, please add your comments. I would enjoy reading them.

**Q: Which beans and grade would you recommend for infusing honey?**
A: I would use grade B Madagascar vanilla beans. 1 cup mild flavored honey and two vanilla beans. Slice each vanilla bean lengthwise, then run the back of your knife against cut the side of bean to remove seeds. Put seeds into a clean jar. Then, cut each bean in half and add the four pieces to a clean jar. Pour honey over top. Seal jar and set aside.
Shake / flip jar every couple days to ensure the beans are submerged under the honey (after a day or so they tend to float to the top). Taste after 5 days and once the desired flavor is achieved (5-7 days), strain and store.

**Q: How many beans needed for 8oz of vanilla? Do I need more than 1. Do I need more than 1 pckg?**

 This should be enough for 8oz.  Generally, the ratio is 100g vanilla for each 1 Liter of alcohol.
