As an island girl now living in the Pacific North West, winters were really tough for me. I’ve been using this daily since October and there is noticeable difference in my mood and sleep quality compared to past winters.I have even notice that my awareness of my internal clock has also improved since I started using the WakeUp light. I can tell when it’s getting close to bed time because I can feel my body start to wind down. This helps me keep my routine consistent and has helped my sleep quality.How do I use this product?I sleep with blackout shades, so my room is completely dark at night. I keep the Wake Up Light on my nightstand and use both the sunset and sunrise feature set to 60 mins with full brightness. For night time, I love sleep mode feature as I don’t like any light in the room when I’m sleeping. I do use the sound alarm in the mornings because I like to know when it’s actually time to get out of bed, but I’m usually awake long before this.I don’t have two separate alarms for the weekdays and the weekends. Instead, on the weekends I allow the alarm to go off as scheduled, I’ll turn it off and open the blackout curtains. This way I’m able to sleep in until my body feels rested but I still have light coming into the room. Consistency is key with these types of products to really work, so I recommend doing this at first.For those who can’t fall asleep in the dark. I would still recommend using this light as I have gone to sleep before the sunset feature is fully through on the days I’m really tired. Once the light is in more of the orange/red hues it’s not as bright and it doesn’t bother me. I know it will shut off on it’s own anywaysHow easy is it to use?The initial set up wasn’t too bad for me, I just followed the instructions that came in the manual. Very quickly I was able to memorize the buttons so I’m able to change the settings without looking at them directly.How bright is it?At level 20 the Wake Up light is very bright to the point that it is uncomfortable to look directly at it. If you are trying to change the settings in the dark I would definitely be careful not to look directly at it just in case it suddenly turns on. In a dark room, the moment the alarm turns on at the lowest setting it does wake me but it’s not startling or uncomfortable. One of these alarm clocks has been sufficient for both my and my husband.I will likely continue to use this product for many years. I don’t think I’d likely invest on a higher end model as this has met all of my needs and has worked as was intended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product, some weird things during operation. *by on Reviewed in the United States August 5, 2019* This is a great product. It definitely works. It wakes you up gradually and I find the integrated sounds soothing, however the sound starts abruptly at the time you have set the alarm and does not gradually increase in sound with the light. Also, if you try to snooze the sound, the whole lamp goes off and 5 minutes later rushes through red to white in an instant with the sound coming back on - which I thought was a weird way to do it. Also, it should be noted that the alarm puts itself off after 15 minutes (after the set alarm time) - which I also thought was weird as normally you would have to put off the alarm manually, to insure that you are actually awake. However I did set a back-up alarm, as I am a snoozer and was not sure if the light would work. I would definitely recommend setting a backup alarm if you are someone who does not wake up easily. On the model I got, the battery does not seem to make contact and therefore there is no battery back-up (I tried with two batteries and checked that the batteries were functioning by putting them in my bathroom scale - I also tried to force it to make contact by using tin foil, but no luck). This is unfortunate, as power outages are a frequent reality in South Africa. I love it and highly recommend especially for the price. I had no problems figuring out the alarm - it is very similar to classic alarm clocks. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I don’t use the noise portion but they sound nice. It is also bright enough that I don’t use the brightest setting to wake up. There is a sleep mode that I’ve used a handful of times when I was kind of wired going to bed but for the most part I don’t use it but it’s nice it’s there. I did a lot of research and price comparisons before purchasing and I am very happy with my decision. There are no subscription like a lot of them.
