Review: Its a cool little dance floor, even for an adult ! - This is a great product! It took me maybe 20 minutes to put in together, and if I needed to reassemble it again, I think it would take 5-10 minutes at most. Really there are Lego sets that are WAY more complicated to assemble then this. So this was a piece of cake. We are using it on carpet, but for assembling I HIGHLY recommend that you do it on a flat hard surface first, even a sturdy board to put under it will work. Then move it onto carpeting when completed. You just line it up and step on it just like in the instructional video. Or if you have some upper body strength just push it down with your hands. (I don't know why anyone would need a "mallet", serious just lightly step on it folks. ) If you have shag carpet it might be too uneven for this product to settle on top of, that would be my disclaimer for heavy carpeting, its probably not going to work at all for you. I read some reviews that it is too small..... uhmmm.... if you measure 3 x 3 feet ahead of time you will know EXACTLY the size of the dance area you are getting. With the frame included it is actually slightly LARGER so I don't understand the reviewers saying it is too small. Those people must be morons. It would also fit assembled under most couches, just slid the whole thing under until you want a solo dance party again. Anyway its good for an apartment because you get some tapping noise, but nothing crazy to drive the people below or next door crazy. And easy storage, we just push ours under the twin bed when not using it or you can completely disassemble quickly and store it back in the box. Its not made of wood, duh. So don't expect it to be a studio quality sound. Its great for practicing and for having some fun at home. Do it, lose some calories people. And yeah they are made so you can buy several sets and put them all together to make a *Megazord* dance floor. So if you want to have a few people dancing prepared to buy AT LEAST 4 or more sets to make that happen. But if your gonna stand there and tap by yourself, enjoy a single set.

**Q: Are the tiles actually wood or is it plastic looking wood ?**
A: Plastic

**Q: will this work for my daughters to practice turns on at home?  Is it light enough to also bring to competitions for warming up on carpeted areas?**
A: My daughters are getting it for Christmas tomorrow.  I am hoping that they can practice turns.  I don't think it will be portable -- there are other options for that.

**Q: is it 3ft by 3ft???**
A: Dear Mallory, This snap together to create a 3'x3' panel.  It is not a solid 3'x3'.  It is modular, therefore, it can break down to 1' square foot tiles.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

**Q: Would this work a hard, cleanable surface for an art area in a kids playroom? Would it protect the carpet and be easier to clean that carpet?**
A: This product does best on a hard, flat surface.  And keep in mind that the seams are not water tight.

Hard to assemble on carpeted flooring but easy on hard surface. I bought two sets so I could have a slightly larger surface and they work together great! I am using it as a mat under my office chair, on carpet. Works great for my purpose.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not super easy assembly but doable. More difficult to disassemble!

I ordered the 5x5 model. What I actually built was a 4x6 floor. That leaves one extra tile. The 4x6 suited my purposes better. It is not a super easy assembly and even more difficult to disengage the pieces to come apart. With some patience, it is doable. A few tips. It does assemble much more easily on a hard surface. A carpet surface is not stiff enough to force the loop and lock system to engage into place. There will be larger pieces already assembled with four tiles and then a box of individual tiles with the finish border pieces. Assemble the individual tiles into pieces made up of four tiles into bigger pieces before completing assembly for an easier time. Each time, line up the loops underneath the locking mechanisms as best you can. Best to start in the middle of each tile or in the middle of the larger pieces coming together with one foot stomping. It takes a good bit of force. Once the middle engages, you can then stomp with both feet outwards to engage the rest of the loops.
