Coloring book - I'm not sure why people are saying they didn't realize this was a coloring book. It says that right on the cover and description. So this is a coloring book. Pages are like a thick tissue paper. Black ink does not smear. Panels are printed both sides, pages perforated. Designs are from simple to a bit "busy" with small areas, so there's something for all. I recommend using watercolor or felt pens! That way when you hang them in your window or near a light the colors glow thru like a real stained glass. Frank Lloyd Wright was an amazing architect, so when I saw this book, I had to order it. I love that it's a stained glass coloring book. My first recommendation is to remove the page you will be coloring. Otherwise, it will be hard to distinguish the lines in the picture you are coloring from the ones behind it. I remove the picture then clip it onto a clipboard with a piece of white paper behind it. This allows me to better see the colors. You don't have to use a background paper, but I find it's easier to see how the colors look and if you miss any areas. The designs are really cool and my husband and kids also enjoy using the book. I have used gel pens and markers. I personally prefer the markers to the gel pens, as any streaks in the gel pens will show up.
