I have three of them on various computers, and the new feet are significantly smoother and much quieter than the other two (several years old now) mice. As near as I can tell, they're very close or the same thickness as the original feet. I suggest cleaning the mouse with isopropyl and a paper towel first, then use the included wipe to make a final pass and pick up residual towel lint. Application was easy, I used tweezers to avoid getting oil on the adhesive.
