I'm using it to open a fairly heavy wooden "man gate" in my backyard fence, and it has plenty of power to do so. I'm a little suspicious of its IP54 claim, but we've had tons of rain here and it's holding up well. I may add a simple rain cover for it soon, for additional protection from above. Update: At the 9 week mark, my fence gate had swollen with rain so that it wouldn't close all the way. But the motor was trying its darndest to close it. I found the gate problem some days later, and the motor had burned out. No fault of the motor, but beware that it WILL burn out if you keep power applied for a long period of time without it being able to move to its STOP open or close positions. Update 2: I ordered a replacement, and once it arrived I installed it onto my fence -- and found that its CLOSE position was about 1/8" shorter than the first one. The drilled hole in the rod is in the same position relative to its end. The issue seems to be that the STOP limit switch adjustment is a little different between units. It would be great if there was access to adjust those open and close limit switches, but there is not. So I had to move over my fence bracket that 1/8" to compensate.
