But it can prevent food debris from soiling the table. They have a good heat insulation that protects the table well. Dark Gray is very beautiful. **Q: can these be cut down to a smaller size without the edges fraying?** A: Not sure about this, What I will say Is ours look like they have sealed edges so personally it’s not something I would attempt **Q: Does liquid go through them onto the table** A: Yes it does if you drop enough, they are almost woven nylon material which naturally have small holes. I think they are great as you can give them a quick wipe over if anything is dropped on them. **Q: Are these Non slip, i.e they don't slide on the table, rather than plates don't slip on top of them.** A: Yes our mats do tend to slide BUT that may be down to us having a glass top to protect the wood of the table.
