I was unable to. However, I noticed there were 2 pieces of metal atop each other and a solid un-stamped disc in the middle. Surely one of these were the ball marker. After 4 hours of attempted prying with a screwdriver I decided to call my local volunteer fire department to borrow their jaws of life. Upon their arrival we discovered the jaws were too wide and were unusable. Since the firemen have been trained in the prying of metal, the 6 of us brainstormed for an hour or so and, at which time the most senior of firemen, a gray-haired fellow with ice in his veins, suggested perhaps the ball marker was not included and had to be purchased separately. BLASPHEMY! I shouted! The description clearly says “Magnetic Ball Marker” and not “Magnetic Ball Marker Holder”. After hugging it out, the firemen left.In order to cope, I decided to call off work for a few days. At the end of day 3, I had to admit defeat. In my broken state, I relocated to the gazebo in my town square. In the early evening hours on a warm spring day, while families were having picnics, moms were pushing strollers, and joggers ran by, I covered myself with molasses and sand and screamed “It’s the magnet only!...it’s the magnet only” a total of 27 times.
