To switch to British Fahrenheit measurement let the device tie out and auto power off which takes about a minute, then hold down the button for three seconds and it will wake up in the other unit system.To use the device on the forehead put on the transparent cover which switched the unit to forehead mode. press lightly on the forehead and press the button, a measurement gets taken and the device beeps to say it is done. To use in the ear remove the transparent cover and the head icon on the display changes to an ear to let you know that it is ready, again insert gently into the outer ear press the button and the device beeps to let you know that it is done.The device should be wiped down with alcohol after use or perhaps with a sterile wipe. You need to leave it for a minute of two to allow the alcohol to evaporate and the instrument to get back to room temperature.Great item for the home medical kit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like the colour stages!! *by O***9 on 13 December 2018* This arrived at the perfect time because my little girl has a temperature and losing her voice!The thing that’s stands out from one be purchased previously (now broken) is the colours representing the stages of temperature snd is we have to worry it lights up red, but luckiky it was amber which although not green it reassured us that her temperature wasn’t dangerous.It still displays the figures but I like the colour scheme it’s much more easier to understand!It’s a reasonable price and works with two AAA batteries (not included) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ All in all it is very decent product for very reasonable price. *by M***N on 13 January 2019* The thermometer is comfortable to handle. It allows measurement of temperature from the forehead as well as ear thanks to removable cap. The surface is made of smooth plastic and is easy to clean. The equipment takes 2 AAA batteries (not included), which power fairly large display (2x3 cm) considering the total size. The on/off button is located perfectly under thumb allowing quick operation. Readings are very clear also thanks to the green backlight. The thermometers saves last temp readings so you can easily monitor the trend. Something to improve would be the user manual English, which is not the best although not to bad too. The protective cap is not very easy to remove initially however that may change with time.
